Stopped at Ludham on our Broads trip and walked up into the village looking for shopping. Happened on the Alfresco just at coffee time and had an excellent mid-morning break here. Friendly greeting, good coffee, excellent scone and good cake. Well worth the walk up from the river.

From the 1 st phone call to make arrangements for 20 people, from a 6 month old upwards to 85 , including a wheelchair , found the team very accommodating and professional , arriving on the day tables and came table exactly as described , Tony ( nicknamed that day as Never !) was the perfect front of house person , great personality , nothing too much trouble , and enjoyed the banter between family members , all parts of the meal were served in a timely fashion , with the children looked after , all food was fresh , and hot when served ,and very enjoyable .great atmosphere , fab team work throughout our time there , thank you for making it special .Thank you for your kind review Iâm really pleased you and the family enjoyed the food & experience at the restaurant. It was a pleasure to meet you all and also enjoyed the banter with you. Hope dad is well look forward to seeing you next time.

Beautiful Village Pub located on the River Bure in the Norfolk Broads. Under New Management (January 2016) and now serving Great British Pub food including homemade specials and our Traditional Sunday Roasts. We make our own cakes and chocolates. Outdoor
Very disappointed My husband and I sat down at a very sticky table after ordering our meal so we moved to another which was just as sticky (we did see a young girl with a sponge and a plastic box with water in it wiping over tables but no spraying with a kitchen anti bac or giving tables a good wipe)our meals came out relatively quickly quite good portions I had lasagne and my hubby had BBQ ribs My lasagna looked odd it had no melted scauce on top but rather two very solid blocks of rubbery scauce and I couldn't make my mind up if it was a microwave meal the meat was tasteless and watery I ate half but just couldn't eat the rest my hubbys meal was average. The toilets were awful need updating but that doesn't excuse them not being cleaned!!! my husband was about to use the toilet and couldn't as the landlady went in to use it ( very strange )The young lady who took our order was very nice well mannered. The location is beautiful but it's let down by food and definitely cleanliness.Firstly thank you for saying that the staff member who served you was very nice and well mannered, thatâs always good to hear. Now, I am a little confused as I donât understand why me using the toilet would stop your husband from using a toilet? There are more than one available and funnily enough I donât use the Menâs?! I am really not quite sure why is âvery strangeâ that I use the toilet? A little enlightenment on that one perhaps! I will agree with you that the toilets are in desperate need of updating and this is already scheduled for this winter. I can assure you that they are not dirty. They are thoroughly cleaned and mopped every day. The pub tables are definitely due for a resurface and are cleaned with hot soapy water as anti bac spray leaves a film on the tables which causes the stickiness. We always resurface our tables during our annual two week shut down in the new year so apologies if your table was âstickyâ I can assure you that they are not dirty and you have said yourself that you witnessed them being cleaned. Now the food, we are exceptionally proud of our food and have an excellent reputation, as well as a 5 star food hygiene rating. I can only apologise that the lasagne was not to your taste but as we make and sell over 100 portions a week without issue we shanât be changing the recipe,Sorry

I spent a couple of days in a motorhome in Thurne. I visited the Lion 4 times. If you like a huge choice of drinks including ales/gin this is it. It's like being at a beer festival. Helped by having lots of lively visitors off the boats and the campsites and the staff were great. I last visited about eight years ago ,,, wow how this place has changed. On the Monday night it was packed ... so they must be doing lots right. Love it.Thank you so much for your great review! Being a free house we always maintain a great selection of ales, ciders and draught beers - we are really happy that you enjoyed these.FYI - We allow motor homes to stay over night in our car park from October through to March - we recommend following us on Facebook & Instagram for regular updates of our winter events and food and drink promotions. We hope you visit us again soon.RegardsRachel & the team

Very much a pub with good reasonably priced food and of a good standard. The service is quick and of a high standard. There is a good selection of ales which are well kept and I have never had a bad pint.Always leave this place well satisfied and never feel ripped off.A good pub to visit, probably a good idea to book if you want food.

The White Horse Upton is a traditional country pub, is just a short walk from some of the most fantastic countryside that the Norfolk Broads has to offer and is proudly and uniquely owned by the local community. We are a family & dog friendly pub where al
Whilst on holiday in Upton, this little village pub caught our eye on arrival. We ate here 3 times and were never disappointed. Community run, all the staff were young friendly folk with lots of chat. The menu consists of authentic pub grub with tje odd special thrown in. We sampled delights ranging from burgers, steak pie, lamb roast, fish and chips also on this menu was lasagne, curry of the day, salads, steak, gammon, chicken. All our meals were healthy portions, arrived hot and very tasty.

The Acle Bridge Inn has stood by the waters of the River Bure for many hundreds of years serving sailors, smugglers, travellers and locals. Everyone gets a genuinely warm welcome and special diets are happily catered to at this hospitable family run inn.
We stopped here as good moorings available right outside pub. Mooring free daytime and £5 overnight refunded against good. Service was good and shown to table and drinks for for us on arrival. We stick to main courses as wanted desserts. Both main courses good but surpassed by desserts. The cheese and biscuits great, nicely presented with chutney salad celery lots of cheese and biscuits. So many places out no effort into this so was good to see. The enormous chocolate gutbuster filled my partner. All in all recommendable especially if boating.

CLOSED UNTIL WEDNESDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2019 ! We are redecorating, and thought we needed a break ! Happy New Year to all of our customers and we'll see you very soon !
We were staying in a local hotel which advertised this place to visit for breakfast etc.The tables outside and inside front were full but there were empty table in the rear of the cafe which may of been a leanto at some time. The breakfasts were much to large as we had only eaten the night before and I ordered a Tuna mix in a bap with a large cup of coffee. All the staff were very friendly and we got the impression that most of the customers were local having their breakfasts. We were made very welcome and we shall certainly return again when we are next in the area.
