Welcome in our small family inn and hotel near the world heritage of Bamberg in Bavaria. Our guests can comfortably explore the Franconian lifestyle in the beer garden, and the nature on our doorstep both by bike and on foot. Good reasons since 1348: *Cen
The atmosphere is rustic, the rooms are decorated in traditional style, with lots of handcrafts and pottery. The general appearance was it is above average for a Gasthaus. The Gemülichkeit was splendid on the night we visited: singing in one room, an accordion player in another and general good cheer with friendly folks on the neighboring tables. The prices were quite a contrast to those in the city â generally less than 75% of those in similar city restaurants. My three Franconian table-mates deemed the food quality outstanding for Gasthaus fare. Each ordered a different regional specialty and raved about the portion size, meat quality and value. I had the cordon blue and found it a bit greasy, short on cheese and ham, and the crust was a bit soggy â but it tasted OK. Service was prompt and quite friendly, especially considering that there was not a free table in the house and people were waiting to be seated. The restaurant has its own beer, which is quite good. They also serve many different types of fruit schnapps, that my companions found quite good. So, despite lack of enthusiasm, for my main dish, the restaurant is no less than very good. My dinner companions would probably find this review a little harsh.Dear Don Paulo, thank you for taking the time and writing a beautiful review for SCHILLER. We appreciate it very much. Please come back soon to our SCHILLER,best regards, family Schiller

Absolutely fantastic food, tho the chairs were very uncomfortable, hard with slats. We arrived with a 7pm reservation, make sure to have one, and there was a Stammtisch with local men at our table. They were enjoying their get together and were in no hurry to leave. They waved us over and as a few had already left their group, there were 3 empty chairs, so we sat down and started chatting with them. They were a group of friends collected over the years from school, work and community. We three ordered our drinks and dinner and had a pleasant chat with the two who remained. They ordered another round and sat with us. Germany is one of those places where you are very likely to share a table with total strangers, but other than a polite " Guten Appetit", usually no conversations occur. Here we had a pleasant chat with two complete strangers about Bamberg, beer, beer gardens, Keesmann, toasting etiquette, tourists, locals, and life. At the end of our delicious meal, we ended up setting up a city tour with one of them who offered to show us the area from a local perspective. I ordered the Hirschgulasch, Elk goulash, with red cabbage and a potato ball. The goulash had cranberries in it and was sweet but not too sweet. However much I thot the red cabbage was good, it was a huge heavy meal, so I couldn't eat much of the cabbage or any of the potato ball. However, I loved the goulash and the cabbage was also warm and delicious. I had a .25liter glass of their dark beer, Sternla, and that was the perfect size. Great taste, not too heavy. My spouse had their Schweinekotelett which was humongous and fried and breaded, which he liked, but it looked like a heart attack about to happen. Our friend had the same as I and liked it as well. In the end, our meals were great, the server, Maria, was really friendly, and the two men were pleasant company. My spouse and I even got a local tour of the surrounding Bamberg county with two small local breweries where he knew the people and the beer was good.

There is a choice between indoor seating with service or a courtyard with self service. Both are very popular. The wood paneled salon is very cosy and busy. Many people book in advance which is recommended. Our first visit was at about 15:00 but they had stopped serving food at 14:30 and didn't restart until 17:30. Lovely draft beer. Came back the next evening and managed to share a table. I had a schnitzel which was tasty but quite large. Great value and very friendly staff. Probably my favorite place in Bamberg.

In the middle of the old part of Bamberg, directly beneath the mighty cathedral, one can find the historic smoked beer brewery Schlenkerla. First mentioned in 1405 and now run by the Trum family in the 6th generation, it is the fountain of Original Schlen
Had a couple of pints of the worlds best Rauchbier, Märzen and a blonde. The history of the brewery is impressive and dates back several hundred years. Iâve sought out Schlenkerla beers in the US and in the UK. Sitting in the Bamberg pub with a wooden barrel aged Märzen is close to nirvana for any beer-aficionado (geek). Outstanding!!

Less than a km from the station, this brewhouse offers a range of beers and the usual full fat saturated traditional German fayre. Roomy inside.

As a recommendation from our tour guide we taxi back the this historic restaurant and enjoyed a large plate of pork n dumplings. Should have asked for smaller portions. Enjoyed their beers. Pretty beer garden in front and interior so old it reeked with history.

A medium size Restaurant- Hotel not far from Tollway Exit Bamberg-Memmelsdorf and furthermore, its located at the main street just after the fame Seehof Castle. The interior is quite Bavarian-like: warm n cozy! They offer the traditional Franconian as well as some Intl Dishes ie. Steaks. Eventhough they have their own Brewery, they also offer some other Beers. You could either park your car in their private space at the back yard or on the side streets. The Resto, Food n Staffs are all nice and I feel happy to get the bill handed in :)
Great location, and part of our Bier Safari. We walked from Lonhdorf, then continued to Brauerei Hoh. We did not get to eat there, but it looked tasty.
