I can walk to this restaurant from where I live and in the past 2 years have become a more frequent visitor. I have probably eaten here about 8-10 times and I've always enjoyed what I've had! It's got a nice atmosphere and the menu is decent with quite a few specials on the board. It's reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. It's just what you need from a local restaurant, give it a try!

It may be a quirk of the address that puts this fantastic tavern in Mol rather than Postel and thus a lower ranking. It is minutes away from the open side entrance into the Abbey in Postel? So being very slightly out of the tourist center it was somewhat quieter; to our great relief as the higher rated restaurants are also play grounds when it is high season. But what about the food and service? Look beyond the green plastic tables on the terrace - the service was exemplary, the staff friendly and eager to please. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. Zander (fish) was scrumpy and the nettle bread and cheese had to be tried and was lovely. Being a bit of a heathen, I really fancied egg and chips (not on the menu) - the result was 3 perfectly fried eggs and more chips than I could eat (â¬7.50). Brilliant lunch venue and probably great fun at night.

Gereserveerd via internet.

I stopped here with my husband after visiting the monastery. It was very crowded and they allow smoking inside (strange). I ordered a vitello tonato sandwich without rocket (rucola, arugula) and it came with LOTS of rocket in. Pity the server didn't listen properly. The sandwich itself was OK. My husband had the uitsmijten which was OK too.

Founded in 1990 Hof Cleyn Mierde stands as a starting point for scenic routes by foot or cycle. Situated on the Belgian border with beautiful woods. Slowfood based kitchen with the use of organic and regional ingredients. Pure and honest flavours welcome
When you are nearby and planning to eat out I would like to recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable dinner. Take the opportunity to make a reservation for "Beers/Wines & Bites". This gives you the chance to try different dishes accompanied by matching wine oder beers. We had 5 plates starting off with variations of asperagus, followed by cat fish in a lobster sauce, duck on risotto, mini rib-eye-steak with different kinds of potatoes to be rounded up with plate of cheese or jack apple with icecream. The food was freshly prepared, delicous and came in well-sized portions. To serve the 8 of us with matching wine or beers was a bit tricky as 2 persons preferred beer, 1 guest was exlusively focused on white wines, another one on red wines while the rest of us happily accepted the suggestions of the lovely and attentive host. She bravely and expertly met the challenge! ;)The wines offered included interesting, partly untypical representatives of well-known grapes like a fine structered, almost burgundy-style tempranillo or a fruity white version of tempranillo as well as typical ones like an excellent burgundy white leading to a surprise at the end in form of a red grown in Georgia. Overall the wines were not extraordinary but good which was perfectly fine for the price arrangement. Having "blind tasted" the beer and wine (mostly we didn't guess correctly) our friendly hostess explained the background with great passion. She took much time to create a nice evening for us. We enjoyed our more than 3 hours stay at the restaurant feeling like home. Excellent value-for-money-ratio.PS: All wines and beers served can be purchased at the shop next door.

Postelsche Hofstee is a typical Belgian restaurant where families go on a Sunday at 12:00 to eat, talk and sit there until late afternoon and where food is not the first priority, it is the whole package that counts. I ate there several times now and they serve a French/Flemish/Belgian cuisine. It is good quality, sometimes even too much, but not haute cuisine, do not expect refined dishes. The white and red house wine is OK, service is friendly and quick.
