There is a place in Saitama, right around the corner from WarabichÅ«Ånana Post Office called Yakiniku Moritaya (ç¼è森ç°å®¶). The place used to be a meat shop, but guess the owners found out that they could make more money as a yakiniku joint instead of a meat shop. Boy am I glad they did! This is a GREAT yakiniku restaurant that serves very affordable and yummy yakiniku. Whenever we have a special occasion, and want to celebrate eating out, one of the top choices for us is Yakiniku Moritaya. It is not near where we live in Tokyo, so it is kinda tough to get to, but it is WORTH it!!!The quality of the meat that they serve is hands down amazing. Soooo tastyâ¦just the right amount of fat in the meat. Just wonderful. The place is NOT large, and I recommend that you most surely make reservations if you want to come here. It seats 4 tables (that can easily seat 4 people each in the side room, which has seating where you sit on the floor. But donât worry, there is a place to put your feet under the table. Then there is some normal tables where you enter the restaurant. It is always crowded, and people stay a WHILE because to be honest you canât stop eating the delicious food. And you will keep ordering more and more and more. So expect to be staying there for a while. Be forewarned, like most places in Japan, it is smoking friendly. Also to note- It is kid friendly as we always see families there eating. So you can bring the kiddies along to enjoy a great meal.What to recommend? EVERYTHING! You need to try all the meats they have- they are all wonderful. Even the Korean chigea spicy soup is nice. Kimchi is yummy. And, one thing that you MUST order- the raw cabbage. Yupâ¦cabbage. Small pieces of fresh cabbage with some high quality sesame oil drizzled over it- thatâs it! Such a simple dish that is freakishly addictive. You canât stop eating it and you will find yourself ordering one more ;-)Yakiniku Moritaya is a quaint local joint that is worth the trek out there, especially if you are in the area. Make the trip and you will not be sorry. Well you will be sorry for not knowing about this place sooner I suspect!
