We felt like having good Japanese meat before leaving Tokyo and decided to go for lunch to Rokkasen. We booked place online and pre-booked a menu. Unfortunately the quality of the meat wasnât to level we expected for the price range. Meat arrived frozen which affected taste and the cooking on the grill. I would also expect better service for such a premium place. When we raised our concerns about the meat being too frozen; the waiter who could speak reasonable English didnât try to address our concerns. All and all; we had much better meat and service in other places in Japan and at much lower price.

In spite of the excellent reviews we read, this restaurant even exceeded our already high expectations. The staff took very good care of us from beginning to end and, whilst preparing our meat in front of our eyes, would also explain the history and traditions behind the dish. The meat was absolutely excellent (and we are quite demanding when it comes to meat), and the whole experience felt more like dining in a beautiful Japanese home than at a restaurant.Do not miss the green tea mousse with vanilla ice cream as desert either, itâs outstanding. We can not recommend Ikuta highly enough and will definitely be back when we next travel to Tokyo.

This restaurant located on the 2nd floor just beside 7 Eleven store . Nice cozy ambience as you entered and well served too. We ordered the beef cutlet and barley rice set. Tender juicy beef cutlet and a mini stove grill at every individual seats where we can grilled the beef to our desire tenderness. If I happen to make another trip, Iâm sure I will drop by again.
