On our cross country motorcycle trip we checked into a hotel near Dickeys. We walked over and the place was busy. The staff were working hard and were friendly. The facility was clean. And the beef brisket was so GOOD! If you're Hungary? Stop here... travel safe...

You pay for what you get at Herman's, but you get what you pay for: Top-quality meats. The steaks are the best you can get in Topeka, properly cut and well-aged. No other place comes close to Herman's Porterhouse and bone-in rib steaks. They also have really good pre-packed frozen burger patties. The carry out deli meals are just as good as everything else here.Herman's is THE place for meat in Topeka.

Went to HHB BBQ for lunch on a weekday. The menu has a pretty good choice of delicious food at reasonable prices. I had the baked potato with turkey as the meat choice. It was a huge potato. The toppings are available at the toppings bar and include quite a good variety of choices. I saw several other people having the bbq chicken special.I was happy with the service and the settings. A place to return.

Iron Rail Brewing, opened November 19th, 2018 in Downtown Topeka, offers fantastic craft beer to be enjoyed with a delicious menu, all served by the best staff in town, in a historic setting. Cheers!
We visited on a Sunday shortly after their opening time. When our server found that we had never been here before, he sent over the manager, Dalton, to talk to us and answer our questions about the recently opened taproom and the historic building. I ordered the beer sampler (Four 5 ounce glasses for $7) since I had never had any of their beers before. My favorite was the witbier, and my least favorite was the saison. We ordered chicken chicharrones (fried chicken skin - actually better than it sounds) and a sausage plate. My friend loved the 3 kinds of sausages, and both the IPAs that he drank. They sell 32 oz Crowlers to go.

Got some BBQ to go and overall we were pretty happy with it. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, and the ribs, as well as the beans. Ribs were delicious, the pork and brisket were probably average at best but tasty. I didn't really care for the beans, they were bland. Overall a satisfactory experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I was back in Topeka this week and stopped in at the new one. Great place. Really expanded the "luncheon and prepared food" section, added tables and increased the menu. Great place to grab lunch and eat there or get it to go. Not just an old meat market with good products, it is now a New store with the same great offerings plus many additional. Parking is great also. Handy to get to.

Operated by Black Dog BarBQue since 2008 and located on the main floor of Historic Harley Davidson, Topeka, we serve BBQ lunch Tues-Sat 11am-2pm and a full menu breakfast Sat morning 8-10:30.
We rode with some friends to check out the Evel Knievel museum and Harley dealership and ate at Henry's before heading home. Being from Kansas City, BBQ is everywhere so I didn't expect anything special. I was surprised how good everything was! I had brisket and my husband had pulled pork. Both delicious and the sides of slaw and beans were excellent. I would recommend Henry's even if you aren't visiting the museum or dealership.

I went to Lonnieâs today and had the #1 - brisket & pulled pork with cheesy potatoes & Cole slaw. The beef brisket was perfectly executed- smoky and super tender. The pork was smoky, tender and delicious. There are 3 different sauces. Cheesy potatoes are unique and pair well with the BBQ. The Cole slaw is on the sweet side. For the #1 the cost is $12.50 and is enough for two meals as Lon is very generous with his servings. There is typically a wait - up to 30 minutes standing in line. I do recommend going as early as possible.
