First time visit so the friendly staff walked us through their menu and the process. Ordered 2 meat plates with sides...ribs and beef, ribs and pork, beef and chicken. The sides were all excellent from the beans, mac and cheese, potato salad and cream corn. The sauce was really good and it is warm so it doesn't cool the meat when used. The ribs are not overdone...great bark and chew. This place is really clean and very orderly. The ice cream at the end of the meal

Fun! We walked over from our hotel for a quick burger (delicious!). There was a large dance hall in the back with a good country band and lots of cowboys and gals dancing. They specialize in BBQ food.

Hickory Roots BBQ

Saw some good reviews, so stopped here for takeout. The man who took our order was exceptionally nice and friendly. Had the brisket sandwich. The sandwich was a decent size, but the brisket was, by itself, pretty tasteless. I expect a lot from brisket when I am in Texas. Brisket should stand on its own, but this needed sauce to make it worth eating. The bbq sauce was good, although a bit sweeter than I like. I got some french fries and they were without a doubt the worst fries I have ever had. They were limp, mushy, and tasted a bit odd. My wife also had the brisket sandwich and got mac and cheese as her side. It was OK.
