El Salvador's capital, San Salvador, is a modern city of wide boulevards and narrow streets, outdoor markets, government buildings, high-rises, monuments, an exuberant nightlife, museums and other cultural institutions. And all set against the backdrop of San Salvador volcano. The city is surrounded by shantytowns as well as affluent suburbs with restaurants and large shopping malls. Peaceful settings such as the botanic garden of Parque Cuscutlan provide a break from the city's hectic pace.

Deli, Gourmet Shop, Cava and Gastro Bar specializing in montaditos, paninis and cuts of imported matured meat. Author's coffees, wines by the glass and cocktails. The only gastrobar in El Salvador with Dry aged beef upto 45 days matured.
Sometimes choices are limited in San Salvador if your looking for something different than the traditional restaurants. I like to try new places but at home I tend to wait until someone I know has tried it.....this happened to me with them....great paninis!! i recommend the one that has serrano ham and gouda cheese ;)

This is a small uruguan place with great food at low prices in a pleasant low key ambience
This restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel. It was difficult for us to find at first, it didn't display correctly in Google maps. I am glad we were persistent in finding it though, it was one of our favorite restaurants of our stay.We both ordered platters which had a variety of meats. One was the "Gaucho" which had a steak, chicken, pork, chirizo, and potato. The other was the Uruguayan which had steak, chirizo and a variety of 4 organs such as heart. Both platters also came with bread, salad, sauces and consomme. Absolutely delicious! Each platter was in the $9-10 range, unreal!

This restaurant is situated in a very prominent situation in a busy part of San Salvador and reviews should be plentiful and frequent. However, there are very few reviews - in my opinion because people are loath to present critical reports.I have never been in a "rip off" until lunching here on 5th October 2019. We both ordered steaks and I am positive they did not weigh as much as the menu suggested. My wife's dessert looked nothing like the illustration in the menu and tasted not at all like the menu indicated. Also the background music(noise) is so loud that my wife and I were unable to communicate without almost shouting. If you want a steak meal DON'T go here!

Lunch with the Family was fantastic! My Mom ate the whole Lunch and I was impressed as she is a 73 yrs old lady and the food must be good for her to finish and no take the left over for later. Good Service and Very Polite Waiters.

It was an excellent dinner. Good service. Open kitchen concept. Locals mainly, wry nice atmosphere. Birthday celebrations at quite a few tables. Entraña was fantastic! I was very close to order another one, but decided to leave space for desserts. And rightly so! Banana cake was superb, so was flan. Starters were a bit less impressive, compared to main courses, I would say leave out salmon carpaccio- it has to be eaten in northern hemisphere :), focus on local stuff instead.
