We came here on our "day off" from doing more extreme stuff in the area. As it's only 1km away from the villages, we expected Malga Aloch to be rather tame in comparison to the more distant establishments. However we ended up staying for much of the afternoon, mostly because of the apple strudel demonstration at 4pm. Service a little slow, but then again we weren't in a hurry. For luch we ate on the large wooden terrace overlooking Vigo di Fassa. Food was good - I had a polenta and mushroom combination followed by a local yougurt with nuts and honey. This was clearly a popular place for families and for people wanting a shorter walk than many offered in the area.

It can get quite busy at times, but definitely worth it, the food is good and the prices are very very OK. Especially the chicken is definitely worth having.

We stopped at Mini Bar Pitt for lunch. We were served an incredibly large and delicious portion of lamb chops fresh off the grill. The side vegetables were cooked perfectly. We highly recommend this restaurant. The outside space is delightful and relaxing.

I'm a bit surprised by the other reviews of grill House de Mogno. We stopped into this grill house, located along the road between two villages in the Val di Fassa on a whim as there was plenty of parking outside. The grill house was full of reserved tables, and we snagged one of the few unreserved high tops. As the night went on, the restaurant filled with families. The waitstaff was helpful though extremely busy and understaffed. The portions were plenty, and we were generally satisfied with our meals of beef - thin-sliced steak and a minced meat patty. My husband especially enjoyed his dessert, a pear cake. The food was not tradition Italian, but it was filing and satisfactory. Reservations recommended.
