Hands down the best barbecue in the whole world. Recommend the sliced plate (sliced into bite sized pieces). Brunswick stew is excellent. They also understand that barbecue was meant to be eaten with white bread. You can smell it two blocks away - do yourself a favor and follow it to Smokey Pig and enjoy!

This is a little hole in the wall that makes tasty ribs. They remind me of Sim's BBQ in Little Rock, AR. They are small in comparison to a Jim 'N Nicks but they are tender and flavorful. Their in-house mustard based BBQ sauce will throw you at first glance, but it's not bad. The baked beans reminded me of Showboat brand. Skip the coleslaw all together. If these type of ribs are your groove, then you can't go wrong here. If not, you'll be left disappointed.

My husband and I went on a Sunday about 7pm. The place was empty and we sat right away. Our waitress your typical teenager or early 20 something, and while she was friendly she was nothing more than adequate. The food was a huge disappointment. The meat on my plate and my husbands was bone dry. It looked like the meat had been sitting out under a heat lamp for a LONG time. I'm talking bad wedding buffet, chafing dish dry. It took a significant amount of sauce to make the meat palatable.Sides were the saving grace. My potato salad and my husband's collard greens were excellent. I hope our experience was since it was a slow Sunday night, but we will probably try other places before we wait 45-60 minutes to try and get the good BBQ.

Serving barbecue cooked with 100% oak and hickory wood fire. Vegetables and countrys cooking and homemade pies. Located in the old Greyhound bus station on the corner of Broadway and 14th. Close to the Chattahoochee whitewater rafting and only a block awa
This place came recommended by some locals we ran into while hiking. The old bus depot location is interesting. We arrived at the end of the Friday lunch rush. We were seated quickly and the staff was friendly. The ice tea was good and overall the food was okay. Not really impressed with the meat on the combo platter that I ordered (ribs, brisket, and sliced pork). Flavor was okay, but not great. Greens were just okay, baked beans were very tomato saucy. Sweet potato souffle was great.

Food was fast and good for a quick bite to eat. Staff was friendly. Wasn't a fan of the mustard sauce, but the others were pretty good.

My wife hosted a baby shower and pre-ordered 30 sandwiches and potato salad. When it was time to pick them up, they were fresh and ready to go. Everyone at the party enjoyed the pulled pork on a soft bun. Great value. We paid cash, they may not accept credit cards.

We lived near Mike and Ed's years ago and became regulars and loved all their food but especially their ribs. We make a point of enjoying them every time we get a chance. Today was no exception. They were delicious!! It's nice to be remembered every time we visit even though it's not as often as we would like. You can be assured you will always receive a friendly greeting & feel welcome. We enjoyed our meal and got a rack of ribs and a couple of bottles of their great BBQ sauce to bring home. Look forward to our next visit.

Barbecue pork, beef, and ribs cooked with 100% wood using oak and hickory. Country cooking and vegetables. Serving Columbus Georgia since 1975.
After getting a bum steer from Southern Living and having a disastrous experience at Buxton Hall in Ashvillle, we asked our friends in Columbus if they had a good BBQ restaurant. And good it is! Country's is what BBQ is all about. Great food, excellent atmosphere, and fun entertainment. So we would suggest that the Southern Living food editors take a trip to Columbus, GA to see what southern BBQ is supposed to be all about. It is crowded and full of locals, which is a strong recommendation.

Who We Are. Smoke is a Bourbon & BBQ restaurant located in Columbus, GA that offers a modern twist on traditional southern BBQ. Expect some of your homestyle BBQ favorites with unique pairings of flavor! Enjoy some of our mouth-watering favorites: pimento
Everything was delicious! Our server, Travis, was helpful with suggestions and provided excellent service. Started with the Pimento Cheese Wontons, which were rich and delicious. Entrees we chose were the Brisket & Sweet Potato Stuffed Waffles and the Gnocchi & Brisket. Their brisket is tender and tasty. Cocktails and dessert rounded out the experience. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Great atmosphere as well.
