I was on a business trip and we wrapped up our appointment around 10:30. We were looking for someplace for an early lunch before flying out of Houston. No Name opened at 10:30 (I assume for all of the refinery workers that need an early lunch) so that was a bonus. The beef and the BBQ sauce were outstanding. I also enjoyed the beans with their smokey flavor. This place may not look like much from the outside, but the food was very good, and there was plenty of it.

Pappas Bar-B-Q offers high quality meats, spice rubbed and slow-smoked in a secret wood blend. Our barbecue is served fresh from the pits all day. Everything is homemade - from the pecan pie, chunky potato salad and crispy slaw to the savory sauces and bo
We made the right choice when we had the Spring Hill Suites shuttle driver take us to Pappas Bar-B-Q on Jan. 18th. Be prepared for cafeteria style. You take a tray and make your selections. Lesly, was very attentive and she offered to take the tray to the table for me. I was using a walker and I appreciated the thoughtful gesture. The brisket sandwich was truly wonderful. It was a great buy at only $9.95. The brisket was so much better than Famous Daves in Lincoln. Meat was plentiful and not at all fatty. The menu was posted above the lines. Sides equally reasonable. One person had cole slaw, another had side of macaroni salad and I had Yams. I was less thrilled with the Yams, but they were still very tasty. The sides were $2.45 each. Locals seem to come with their families. We were there by 5:15 and it was just beginning to have the rush. I almost missed the homemade pecan pie. A person at another table had it and so glad to see him enjoy it. It almost tasted that there was a touch of brandy in the pie. Will return when he have another cruise. A must place for clients to try. They willnot be disappointed.

Lived in Texas over a decade ago, and always loved going to the Texas City Grand Prize. Whenever I make it back to Houston, I make a stop to the Pasadena location. The Pasadena location has the identical outstanding quality BBQ as I remember in TC. Staff is very friendly , but it wouldn't matter, because I am traveling the 1000 mile to get the super chop no matter what. Excellent smoked meats with the best sauce. When my kids are fortunate enough to make the trip, they love the BBQ baked potato, and want to move back so they can get more. Delicious food and we will be going back whenever we can.

THE southern komfort KITCHEN, in La Porte, TX, prepares food from scratch -- like Grandma used to make. Southern American food done the old-fashioned way.
Returning after being gone for three years and brought a first time guest. Appetizer was gumbo and out of bounds delicious my lunch was the Cheddar Soup with vegetables. My guest had the vegetable plate with dinner salad and their home made blue cheese dressing. Fried Okra, Broccoli Rice Casserole and Macaroni and Cheese. Yes the entire lunch was outstanding. So get on in here and enjoy what we already know. Retired Chef Gene

We searched for a bbq place after arriving in Houston before driving down to Galveston. This place is in a strip mall, that lacks anything appealing so I was kind of reluctant to go in. The place is oddly furnished. It was like going into a flea market. However, their bbq was very good and the baked beans were terrific. We all loved it, which is saying something for my picky family!Staff was very friendly as well!

Went here after trying one of their other restaurants earlier in the week. Had ribs, brisket and pulled pork with fries and beans. It was brilliant. My wife had turkey and spicy sausage with butternut squash mash and mac and cheese. She really enjoyed and said it was best turkey she has ever had. There was also a toppings bar (onions, pickle, etc). Highly recommended. If in the area eat here!

Went with colleagues at lunch. Service is good but the food was just meh. The brisket lacked any flavor until dipped in bbq sauce, sausage was good. The potato salad was runny. Highlight of our meal was the fried okra, and even thereâs only so much of that one can eat.
