A new BBQ place that I wanted to try after recommendations. I ordered the chicken plate with green beans and potato salad. The servings were generous and reasonably priced. Received 1/2 chicken. It was flavorful and moist. Green beans were southern style with plenty of flavor. Potato salad was standard BBQ and quite good. My son ordered the brisket plate. Once again servings were plentiful. He noted the meat was not very warm but otherwise good. Excellent value for the money they just need to make sure meat is warm when it hits the plate. Will go again.

In New Braunfels from time to time last few years. Always looked forward to eating at the Smokehouse. Wife gets chicken and dumplings. Me, smoked meat of some kind. Last visit wife could not eat the chicken and dumplings. Said it was more like chicken soup with a soggy biscuit. Flavor was missing compared to the past. No problems with the meats. Just seems like it isn't what it used to be.

My high school buddy took my wife and I to this place after surviving an hour-long drive on a conjested/in construction road from Seguin. Well it was worth the drive. I had the all-you-can-eat pork spare ribs (only $11) and my wife, buddy, and his wife had the two meat platter. The ribs were a little on the overcooked side but still very good. Coleslaw and fried okra were outstanding. My wife let me taste the brisket and I realized that I should have ordered the brisket. Counter waitress was super nice.

Slow-smoked meats & Southern desserts in a rustic setting with a full bar, patio & live music.
The meat was wonderful! Ask for lean, little fat. Brisket with a ring around it. Yum! The potatoe salad and Ccole slaw were mushy like it was left in a food processor too long. It was our first time their, so I didnt know how the ordering worked. It would have been helpful for the staff to explain it.

Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q serves Real Texas Bar-B-Q seven days a week. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and group meals.
Cool place with great food. You place your order and they carve or prep it in front of you. Everything is freshly carved to order. The lean brisket is awesome. Buddy had the 1/2 chicken. Sauces are really good too. Go hungry because you get a lot. Friday night there was live music, solo dude with guitar. Was pretty good and enjoyed the entertainment.

I love this place...literally stop EVERY time I drive to San Marcos from San Antonio. Great beans, amazing side choices, and best fatty burnt ends in the business. More importantly, their beef ribs are a tiny little pot roast on a stick...nothing short of amazing. Go hungry, leave chubby.
