Authentic barbecue with a Nantucket twist! That's the plan for our new restaurant set to open by early spring in the former Cap'n Tobey's building on Straight Wharf. Former Brant Point Grill Executive Chef Fred Bisaillon and his girlfriend Denise Corson,
We walked in without a reservation and on a whim and we were really glad we did. Iâm not even a huge BBQ fan and we loved our meal. The ribs were soooooo good. Portions are large. Definitely come hungry. Staff was friendly. Itâs a bar so itâs loud and casual but come for some good eats.

Dinner nice, service good, ambiance a bit rocky...several parties of ladies present, very very loud, The greeter was moving chairs about with lots of noise associated with every more. Craft cocktails clearly the focus of the bar. All in, it was a good stop but not where you would go for atmosphere.Hello Debbie ! Thank you for the review! We are so happy about the great food compliment and yes we are very proud of our cocktails and bar! We remember this night well and yes it was a bit louder than we usual see at Atlas - almost all large groups of women that night and all seeming to be having a lot of fun, loudly! We hope that you will join us again- our fireplace will be roaring for the winter and we are usually a great place for quiet convo but every night is a new night! As for the chairs - we have taken it to heart and everyone has been spoken to about lifting the chairs all the way and w grace! Have an amazing falll! And we hope to see you again! The Crosswinds Restaurant is part of the Nantucket Memorial Airport and is accessible from the outside as well as the concourse. Its offerings include sandwiches, small bites and simple entrees. It offers a small menu along with daily specials for very reasonable prices and adequate portions served efficiently on vinyl tablecloths amidst a backdrop of takeoffs and landings seen through a wall of windows and a chain link fence. Food is along the lines of home cookingânothing to rave about but simple and satisfying. If you are staying at the Nantucket Inn across the street itâs a 2 minute walk and for us the only reasonable choice given that downtown Nantucket is a 20 minute drive away.
Cowboy's is Nantucket's favorite butcher shop and best wine shop, owned and run by Laura McCloskey, a year-round Nantucket resident since 2003. Cowboy's has friendly staff who can help you select the perfect steaks, chicken, lamb or other meats for you to
Sandwiches, Burgers, prepared foods, soup, Nice Meats (butcher), beverages and cheeses and wine selections. Specialty condiments. Get a map and find it. Not a short walk from ferry! But if you are up for the hike, be careful sidewalks run out! Some busy streets in summer to get there.Lots of real estate to look at on the way. Go back along the water. Lucky you if you have a car on the island and are staying!
