Nice Cozy place for meat dinners. We had a nice carpaccio and local meats plate for starters, then ribs and steak for main. beers are nice (bottled), local Merlot wine is not as good as the Barbera.Local made deserts (chocolate muss, Tiramisu) were very good. Service is nice though on the slow side.Summary: nice cozy place for meat dinner. nice atmosphere. food is good not fine dining but very good. price is fair.

This place is kind of hidden up a mountain, you will find no signs whatsoever so we relied on the navigator. The restaurant is simple but warm and cozy and the staff is nice. What is even better is their food, high quality salumi (cold cuts) and of course the meet, their pride. Special Mention to the Waygu fillet and a wide variety of Fiorentina. Also the dessert were delicious.

A few steps away from Lugano a real, traditional, local grotto inside the green forest.Grotto Morchino at Pazzallo. The Grotto Morchino is a typical local restaurant, it has a cozy room inside with an open fire place and outside a cool, covered terrace. In
Decent place for a dinner with very friendly service, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine there again. We had Antipasti Morchino, grilled rabbit and luganighetta sausage. Cheese and most of the cold cuts were very good and I also enjoyed their sausage. I wasn't impressed with the rabbit though. The meat wasn't as juicy and flavorful as I expected. Also, I doubt that our dishes were done on actual grill. At least, I didn't see it outside, but it may be different during warmer time of a year. Also, keep in mind that they have menu only in Italian, so may want to check their English menu online.Hi IhorM,Thanks for your review.I'm glad that you enjoyed our specialities. As for the rabbit, Iâve to mention thatâs usually not cooked on the grill in our area.We prepare it stewed served with its sauce and polenta. The meat of the rabbit is however a fairly dry meat without fat and therefore we prefer to prepare it stewed. The grill is located at the end on our summer terrace and from there all the grilled meats arrive, taken care of our âchefâ.Ours is a typical place where we want to maintain its âtypicalityâ by leaving the menu in our Italian language. For translations we have our website and the staff can explain the menu in English, French, German for those who do not speak Italian.Best regardsPierluigi Olgiati

My husband booked us a table at this charming grotto for a Sunday lunch whilst we were staying in the Induna Olona area. Although we have travelled in the area a number of times, we hadn't experienced a genuine 'grotto' - and what a delightful experience it turned out to be. We were seated at the end of a large, communal dining bench, under a pergola heavy with vines. An olive wood board of exquisitely rustic charcuterie arrived - and rapidly disappeared... as did a bottle of the local red wine, which we drank from small pottery cups, grotto-style. Mains were perfectly grilled cuts of pork and lamb from the barbecue. Grotto del Cavic was packed with families enjoying their Sunday lunches - it was a wonderful atmosphere in a very pretty setting and the food was superb. It also made a welcome change from some of the region's more formal, finer dining restaurants.

Visited this place in the middle of a hike through the area. Food was amazing, especially the chicken cooked in the fireplace. I was a little worried when I first saw it (as I haven't experienced anything like that before), but they truly know what they are doing. Special mention of the coffee. It was, without a doubt, the BEST cappuccino I've ever had in Switzerland. You should try it, even if you don't like coffee :)
