Authentic, Southern Bar-B-Q. Meats are slow-smoked for 24 hours around the clock. All trimmings are made fresh from scratch daily (not one freezer in the whole building). Dine In, To Go, Drive Thru, Private Dining, or Catering available.
We have eaten at too many of these restaurants to count. This is a great restaurant. Unfortunately our waitress needs some people skills. She also seemed two steps behind forgetting to bring things until the middle of our meal and disappearing for long spells. The positives: food is very good, menu has a lot of choices, prices are fair, restaurant is clean (except for windows in entrance that look as though they havenât been cleaned for a year). Bottom line- we would eat there again (but with a different wait staff).

Place your order - take a seat sort of place. We were a group so the orders sort of got mixed up and came out one at a time. One person didn't even get their order. They we're pretty proud of their BBQ, as they should be, but to be honest just better than average. Good value and I will return.

Says on menu, ribs are grilled and things are exactly what you'd expect for that. They are tough and chewy to get off the bone. Not soft and tenderlike smoked ribs would be. Tough, the kind you need to work at, with lots of fat and gristle because they don't melt away as they do with slow cooking. This is cooking over high heat and it shows. This is the way the founder likes it as I hear. That being said, they tasted fine. Not smokey, but have a good rub and porky flavor. Rub flavor heavily depends on salt, but still ok. Only problem is for a big meaty St Louis rib, the rub doesn't flavor the center meat. I guess that is what the sauce is for. Sauce is nice and tangy good. Pulled pork is blah, bleh. No smoke flavor, no pork flavor. Needs the sauce. Not sure how cooked, since they don't smoke the ribs, doubt they smoke the pork shoulder. Oven? Anyway, while the ribs are ok, this isn't my kind of BBQ restaurant. I want smoked meat, not grilled meat.tb911, Thanks for your honest feedback. We've been doing this since 1958 and fortunately we've found that a lot of people enjoy the way we cook. Sorry it wasn't to your liking.

Enjoy the BBQ, smoked chicken, and smoked turkey at Fat Boy's. Always friendly service. Food is delicious. If the weather is nice, enjoy lunch or dinner on the porch. Good view of Autauga Creek.
