Find out what Barbecue restaurants to try in Messina. At Sicily’s northeast tip, Messina is the first city being kicked by mainland Italy’s boot, just three miles across the Strait of Messina. It's a main port of entry for visitors via hydrofoils and ferries. Trains board the ferry, too, before continuing service. The 12th-century Norman cathedral, rebuilt after a 1908 earthquake destroyed it and much of the town, is the most famous attraction.

The fort Petrazza is one of the Umbertine works that deviates significantly from the others, not for its size, but for the form and other details . It stands on a south point of the city to control the port. The plant, unlike the other Umberto the structu
Fantastic location at a local historical fort. The atmosphere is great and the staff made our party feel welcome and gave brilliant and prompt service. We had an array of well presented canapés for entree, food and dessert were absolutely wonderful. Excellent sangria and wine to accompany the wonderful dishes. A visit to this place is highly recommended.

Scorching hot day. After walking around the city what could be better than a cold beer? I'll tell you... the craft beers this place serves. Very near the port and clock tower. What a great place! If I was local I'd be a regular. Helpful staff and I'm using their Wi-Fi to post this. Can't comment on the food but if you need a beer after touring the city this is your place.

We arrived 5 minutes before opening & asked if we could sit down, as we had luggage. They asked us to wait outside for 15 minutes, which we did, while the staff smoked and drank. We waited for 25 minutes before leaving. They were open but wouldnât serve us.

We have friend that lives just outside of Messina that decided this would be a good place to take our group for a fun evening. We didn't order individual dishes from the typical menu, our friend just ordered a bunch of food that came out family style. Mixed fried seafood, tuna, and swordfish that were caught just off the coast line. We probably had a slightly different experience than most travelers since we had a local ordering for us but even without a local, you will get a good meal.

Came for lunch from a tip at a Rome restaurant. We walked several miles from cruise ship to get here. They have a nicely priced lunch special menu. All of our party enjoyed their selection. Stuffed Fresh Calamari was to die for. If ever in Messina again we will be back.
