We went here after reading the reviews, and we are glad we did.I got the two meat plate with brisket and sausage with BBQ beans and fried fkra for sides. My wife got the rib plate with potato salad and green beans. The brisket was excellent, The sausage was good but not to my taste, the BBQ beans reminded me of B&M baked canned beans, and the okra was fantastic. The Ribs were very good, the Potato salad was mild but tasty and the Green Beans had a very peppery bite to them. I love black pepper, yet the green beans were to much for my taste. The portions were good on the meats and very large on the sides. We would highly recommend going here for some Q.

The barbecue here was so tough it tasted like shoe leather. It was burned badly. Potato salad had no flavor. Talk to the manager about it and he didnât care. I strongly encourage you not to come here. Much better barbecue restaurants around.

We were at Mesquite convention center, and went over for some BBQ, It was very good. The were plenty of sides to choose from. I had coleslaw & spicy fried potatoes. Both were excellent. The coleslaw was net real heavy with mayo that you can't enjoy the taste of the vegies. The potatoes were very good. Sliced beef was tender and trimmed of excess fat.
Typical of the original style locations, you order your meat, then serve yourself on the rest on a cafeteria style line. Tonite people were just incredibly slow and indecisive which makes this set up annoying which is why I rated lower than excellent. The place was clean. Lis of parking and seating. The meat cutter was ok.
I've been to Salt Lick, Pecan Lodge, Lockhart, and many more. And I don't expect here to compare, but not good. Some of worst overall BBQ I've had. I kept drowning brisket in sauce trying to get some flavor. Ribs tender but also bland. Sorry. Not sure what others think they know about bbq, but thinking a road trip to a few real bbq joints would do them some good in their bbq ratings.
