Was hesitant ordering the bake potato with meat but it was big enough to split. VERY good food. Been there twice in week.BBQ sauce is a bit spicy and I like a bite, so I order sweet. Actually the meat is excellent without any sauceThis picture does no justice for size of potato. It is at least 9 inches. It is topped with lean chopped brisket. That is sandwich also.Thanks for the friendly review! We're so glad you loved it and can't wait to serve you again soon

Stopped here for bbq.Slicedcbrisket and smoked chicken was best of meat.Beans were great.Prices were average for amt of food. Not very generous with the meat on tbeir chedder potato.Bbq sauce comes hot. Loved my glass of wster

Long day asked hotel front desk to recommend good bbq place distance from hotel not an issue. They directed me to Smoke Texas bbq and watering hole a few blocks away. The girl at front desk said thatâs were her dad always went and that sounded good enough for me. Now I am sure there are plenty of places doing same thing but this place just hit the spot. Lady at counter walked me thru all choice and roughly portion size (donât want to over order) ended up with 1/2 lb of brisket it just came apart with your fork so tender. 1/4lb smoke turkey which I found a little dry but thatâs turkey but boy what a taste (I am not big into ribs) 2 small sides beans and potato salad along with sweet tee = one happy customer. Anyone visiting Harlingen TX must check out this place especially vs the chain BBQ. Joints. This place is the real deal.

My husband and I went to South Texas for vacation in Dec.... Decide to try a different place to eat in Mercedes... A small restaurant north of Mercedes.Had a pull pork sandwich and it was fantastic! Try the brisket.... Even better. Reasonable prices.....I recommend it!Didn't take a picture this time around but sure will when we visit again in a few months!

Family owned Texas style BBQ restaurant. Everything is made fresh every day. We only smoke with oak wood, low & slow! Now open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 3pm. Drive thru and expanded evening hours coming soon!

I have been to Smoking Oak many times. I love the ribs and my husband enjoys the brisket and sausage. Consistently great food every time we go and a great selection of sides. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Restaurant is clean. A very enjoyable dining experience! Also, love the new restaurant addition and expanded parking lot.
