I so wanted to like this restaurant, but, frankly, I was disappointed.Hubs and I stopped here for dinner on a cold, December night. A perfect evening for barbecue!I had the ribs. Hubs had the peppered pork loin. We both started with salad - the ranch dressing was great! A promising start! But, alas, the night went downhill for me from that point. Hubs received a generous portion of pork and really liked it. He wasn't that thrilled about his side of onion rings. Way too greasy.I received a nice size portion of pork ribs. However, they were quite fatty and managed to be sopping with liquid and overdry at the same time. I think they were braised when proper BBQ is smoked. But they were overcooked, then drenched in watery sauce. The baked beans I chose as my side were almost inedible. VERY HOT - spice-wise. And I survived New Mexico with all of its chilies. Not a whole lot of flavor, just plan HOT. Later on that evening and early the next day, I regretted my decision to eat even the small portion that I did. Restaurant was tired-looking. I think they were trying to look rustic, but the place just looked worn. Scuffed tables and chairs. Poor lighting. Kind of depressing, despite the pretty Christmas tree in the front room. And what's with the continuous roll fabric towel in the bathroom? Haven't seen those in more than a couple of decades! ICK!If I were to go back, I'd try a sandwich with salad. Maybe those would be better.

The atmosphere is fun, service was excellent. My sweet potato fries and sweet rolls were good but my pulled pork sandwich was not edible. Mushy, not at all the texture of pulled pork, more like mystery meat that was almost pureed. I tried my husbands tri-tip and wasn’t impressed with it either, too much liquid smoke or something similar, not enough sauce. Luckily there was extra sauce on the table. Sorry but we won’t be going back.

It was mid-afternoon, 2 or so. It was a quite day inside this eatery. The staff were attentive and nice.I ordered the Tri-Tip Philly and mac salad as my side. The salad was homemade. The salad was plentiful but bland.Tri-tip Philly had cheese, onions, peppers, and Tri-Tip. Serving was size was adequate. The veggies and cheese was the most redeeming part of the sandwich, the meat was uninspiring and extra chewy.Summary: a monotonous meal
