Laid back casual restaurant focusing on Caribbean and local cuisine taken to a new level. We use the best locally-sourced ingredients and present them in a new way. We offer affordable and delicious menu items with seasonal specials, in a comfortable atmo
This was my favorite thing to do. I love the owners. So friendly and helpful. Our guides were both extremely knowledgeable on the history and alot of fun. What amazing views. I got bit by a bug while jet skiing afterwards . It didnt swell up until we were back to the states the next day. I sent a message to them and they were so helpful with information on what it could be. They went above and beyond. The atv was so much fun and the view was spectacular. Only other thing i would have liked to have done was stop at that chocolate shop. Haha
Where to eat Pub food in Hopkins: The Best Restaurants and Bars

We did arrive somewhat late but I did not think it was too late (about 8:30) as this is a bar and restaurant. The waiter was nice but the food took forever to arrive. The order of chili cheese fries was small, maybe 20 steak fries, topped with not much flavorless chili and melted cheese. The burgers when they finally arrived (over 45 minutes after ordering) were okay but not worth the wait. Considering our group of four was one of only 3 groups there we could see no reason for such slow service.

Jalapeno's is a clean, bright happy spot at the entrance to Hopkins. There are picnic tables out front under cover as well as bar stools at the outside bar where you can have a meal and drink while enjoying the sun and laid back atmosphere of the Village.
While spending a week in Belize for work purposes, my three colleagues and I were introduced to Matt and Cat, owners of Jalapenoâs BBQ & Grill. A very nice and fun couple that take a hands on approach and provide a great variety of tasty and quality food and drinks.I highly recommend the stuffed jalapeños and Cajun chicken pasta - my two favorites! We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us so much. It was an absolute please to meet you all, and we hope you make it back to Belize in the future. Matt and Cat

Serving dinner only in a beachfront setting utilizing farm and sea to table and our onsite smoker as well as vegetarian, fresh seafood daily, smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs and poultry. Great Salads from organic sources. Family friendly and big portion
They 'specialize' in Texas BBQ style smoked beef brisket; pulled pork; chicken. No they do not. The beef brisket was very fatty. The meat was served on a wooden plank. The sauces were cold in pour containers on the table. Three sauces, Pineapple-the best; a Mustard and a BBQ sauce you had to pour onto the meat. It came with a tiny container of blah cold slaw. WE shared a green salad that had a dressing made of oil and vinegar and spices-the oil was stale. The olives on the salad were old. I had mine in a sandwich and the bun was week old bread. We ordered two glasses of Pinot Gris and as they were being served was told we could only have this one glass, they were out of that particular wine. Dessert was a dry chocolate brownie. To cap off a dreadful meal, the chef in the kitchen barked at the server because she was giving us our change when the 'owners' meals were ready. They were served, we waited. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.Thank you for your honest review. We are not one to make excuses for your experience, but must say that this is not the usual response to our food. We have been well received and are sorry you felt you didnât have the experience you wanted. Our Beef brisket is offered lean or, as many people like it, with a small fat cap. Our olives are imported and I frankly donât know of any olives that arenât old, thatâs what they are, preserved. Our buns Re baked fresh locally and dressing homemade. I believe this review was planted by our neighboring competition To bring our rating down intentionally. In any case, we always strive to have fantastic fare and if you did have a problem, had you pointed it out st the time of dining, we would have certainly made it up to you, as is our policy.
A very authentic and unique Garifuna dinning experience in Hopkins Village, Belize awaits you here. Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner are served daily by natives in its most authentic manner in traditional ambiance. Located on Over Johnson Cultural Island just on
We wandered up here when we were in Hopkins. We chatted to one of the owners, Eugene who was extremely interesting and generous with his time. We learned a lot about Garifundan history and enjoyed some lime aid. We booked a cookery lesson. We returned the next day and were not disappointed. We made Hudut. This involved climbing the tree to get the coconuts, mashing the plantain and grinding the coconut and extracting the milk. Chopping herbs and cooking fish on an open fire. It was fun and instructive but also one of the most delicious meals that we tasted on our trip to central America. We also booked a drumming session which we also enjoyed as did my children. A big recommend from me.
