In our mission to find the âbest Piri Piri in Algarveâ we ordered a takeaway from Albufeira Gourmet. Has all hallmarks of local authentic and we were optimistic. The price was good. The chicken Piri Piri was actually slightly unusually sweet. Complexity of flavour is fine, but this was unbalanced in terms of sweetness.Hence overall, it was ok, but not in consideration for best in Algarve for Piri Pri. That prize for us went to A Rampa in Monchique.

he typical dish of Guia, Albufeira, is "franguinho da guia", very small chicken grilled, served with fried potatos and tomato salad with oregans. If you want with piri-piri spice you must say "com" = "with". If you eant without piri-pire you must say "sem" = "without".In this restaurant you get the perfect "franguinho da guia", but the salad will be ever better in summer.

Always visit this resaurant a couple of times when in the area and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is always great as the restaurant is a great favorite of the locals. Chicken piri piri is probably the best you will get but try the pork fillet piri piri for a change. You will need to get there a little early if you need to get seated quickly perticularly if you are in a large group (probably 7.30pm) as from around 8.00pm onwards it starts to get very busy and you may have to wait longer for a table and service may be a bit slower. I am sure some of the reviews are because people have arrived late. The staff are really nice and friendlyCertainly worth a visitShow less

Visited at the start of the season so the restaurant wasnât very busy.Greeted by a nice waitress who asked do you want chicken or want to see the menu?Bit odd,but weâd come for the chicken anyway.Lovely piri piri chicken arrived, although the portions were small,no breast meat, but very tasty.Nice salad and fries and plenty of anti pasti starters like olives and bread, fish paste etc.Inside was spotless (we sat roadside )Would go again but Iâd like to see the menu.Btw toilets were spotless as I know ladies like to know these things

Firstly, if you come here youâre going to eat Chicken. No beef, pork, lamb, just chicken. Reading peopleâs reviews about the food makes me wonder about the size of portions they consume. Weâre not big eaters and there was plenty to satisfy us. The Chicken was excellent, not too hot but a nice kick that lingered on your lips. Salad consists of tomatoes and white onions in a dressing with fresh oregano over the top of it.. very tasty. This is NOT fine dining, what it is is authentic, Portuguese Piri Piri served quickly and well in typical surroundings. Enough to fill two of us, a glass (large) of white wine and three cokes all for under â¬25. Spot on value. We will be returning.

The most famous restaurant for the âGuiaâ chicken. The restaurant is gigantic but itâs usually also crowded. You will probably have to wait for a table but the system is quite organized for the waiting line.Itâs worth to know but the famous âGuiaâ chicken who is popular to be smaller is getting in fact smaller and smaller.

Letâs face it. Chicken dishes served in Portugal are nothing like the slimy, fatty, gigantic and hormone- and antibiotic-filled chickens in North America. The chickens here are smaller and yet they are so delicious. I should say they taste cleaner, too. Piri piri is one of my favourite dishes. And Ribeirinho definitely serves excellent chicken. With rice, lettuce and tomato (the sweetest I have tasted thus far) salad, and fries, the meal was so satisfying and provided excellent value. I had molotov dessert after and it was so light and delicious, like a sweet mini-cloud melting in my mouth. The restaurant itself is popular. Easily, I counted around 80 diners but the restaurant can definitely accommodate double that number, maybe more. The place is clean and the washrooms are classy and well maintained. Thereâs lots of parking at the back. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. This is a must-visit restaurant. Go!!!
