Great charcoal grilled lamb, top notch pasta with truffle, sweet grilled peppers, beautiful red wine and a very good house speciality dessert. High end of the price spectrum for Italian food in this part of the world but well worth it. Very nice rustic atmosphere and efficient service. One of the best in my opinion.

This hidden gem on the Piazza Gariboldi is warm and inviting with friendly staff who speak excellent English and even when we tried to speak basic Italian were good enough to help with our pronunciation. The decor was well finished with traditional touches that made you feel that you were about to be served a good home cooked meal.As it was lunch time we skipped the starter and just went for a pasta course, mine was Pasta with Gorgonzola & Radicchio. which was first class. The wine was recommended and of course we went for a fine white Frascati recommended by the waitress which was excellent and not expensive at 20 euro a bottle. To finish I had the Tiramisu which was as light as a cloud. followed by a strong espresso to wake me up for the rest of the time walking around this gem of a town. This is a must visit restaurant and worth a trip up to this hill top town overlooking Rome. if you go around dusk and stand near the walls at the north of Frascati you will see the lights coming on all over Rome. Very atmospheric. I would recommend this restaurant and look forward to my next visit.

This is restaurant has a charming setting, that should make a great (in the right company also romantic) evening. The attraction is the antipasti buffet, which is outstanding in variety and presentation. The pasta, fish and meat are absolutely okay for this level of restaurant, but not better nor worse than one can find in a dozen other places within a five minute drive. The crowd is a local well-off, sometimes beautiful mix of thirty-forty somethings. Tourists never find their way here, unless given suggestion by someone local. The owner was once a friend of the director Fellini, who used to hang out here quite often.Now... watch up. If you choose to eat the antipasti buffet, which I highly recommend, make sure that you amass a small mountain of things FIRST time. The buffet technically should enable you to take a few things now, a few later and perhaps then that last piece of filled eggplant that you likes so much. Don't be surprised if the waiters snatch your plate away and then replace it with a clean one. Perfectly okay, except that on the bill there will be a double (or triple) charge for the antipasti. They charge you every time they snatch the plate away. In the menu there is no limitation that you only may take one plate. Nor is there any information posted regarding this. Also, don't be surprised if the waiter asks you if you need a receipt, when you are paying. If possible they don't bring you a receipt, just write down the bill on a piece of paper. This is of course absolutely illegal, and you are at risk of a heavy fine if caught outside by Guardia Finanza making a check. The owners prefer to put the money straight into their pocket, without the inconvenience of putting them through the tax system. If you are not a regular, don't expect the waiters to show you much attention, until they are collecting the money.Apart from those small things, it's great place.
