The Bakery is a very nice local restaurant/lounge that serves above average quality food. It misses out from being exceptional for by poor waitress training, and an archaic POS system. For starter, they serve sourdough bread with these stupid plastic butter containers. I donât know why they donât serve the bread with a small ramekin of some sort of spread. Its cheaper and one can alternate the spreads daily- that s what chefts do! I ordered salad with dressing on the side, it arrived loaded with dressing, which I donât like. I ordered a nightly special, 2- 4oz filets topped with shrimp in a sea food sauce, Since I was sharing it with my wife, I had to order an extra plate, but the waitress brought me a saucer to divide the large platter. The filet was actually quite good and properly cooked, as was the potato but they threw some steamed broccoli, none of which were seasoned. Although we enjoyed the meal, the piece de resistance was when I had to pay. I gave them my debit card and was told to go to the bar to enter my PIN , When at the bar I had to go behind the bar and wait in line for my ticket which took stupid time since there were many other servers also waiting for their payment . Who ever this guy was, he was flooded with orders and too busy to look after ânormalâ business. I cannot recall every going to restaurant where I had to creep behind the bar to pay. This is not the 90âs, its pure cheapness, never mind wireless POS how about a long extension cord so I can work on the bar top?Hello Stuart, Thank you for your review and Three Star Rating.A small plate to share your dinner was not proper.A large plate was brought to your table and used by your wife.

Kevin, JJ and Mark Richert took over Tonawanda in July with the passion and determination to make a hot spot for BBQ Lovers. The Smoker, filled with Brisket, Ribs, Pork & much more, adds to the delicious menu but the daily specials show the creativity of
It's hard to find good BBQ in WNY, but Smoke On The Water does it right. We have been there a couple of times now and have not been disappointed. The pulled pork is fabulous, but this time I decided to try the ribs. I ordered a full slab figuring I could take home a few bones. When the plate arrived, my jaw dropped at how big the slab was. Not only did I have a delicious meal that night, I had more than enough for another full dinner. The ribs were tender and full of flavor, The baked beans on the side were an excellent compliment to the meal as well. As for the service, that was excellent as well. Very attentive server, always checking on what we might need without being intrusive to our conversation. The building is small and I'm not sure what kind of wait there might be during prime times since we always go for a slightly early dinner to avoid the crowds. There is a patio overlooking the water, but I have never been there during the warm weather to take advantage of that. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone searching for great BBQ and great service.

I was really looking forward to this place after reading all of the positive reviews. I can't express how let down I am. Even though northerners do not have a natural knack for good barbeque, we in Western New York are still lucky to have a few that come close, notably Smoke on the Water. Suzy's is, frankly, awful, low-budget barbeque.Pros:Very clean, which to me is an honest positive. A lot of restaurants around here, even high-end ones, do not exude "clean". Many are just nasty and an instant turn-off. Suzy's smelled, looked and felt clean. The wait staff was nice, but, a superficial nice. More on the service in the cons.Cons:CASH ONLY. WTF? It's 2017...it's a given we pay by plastic and it's up to the staff to inform you before you order that it's cash only. They have these hand-written, neon stars all over the place saying to visit them on Facebook. The only sign that says "cash only" is the same type of hand-written star at knee height at the service counter. We only noticed it well after we ordered. The server said NOTHING about it being CASH ONLY.Their solution? An ATM that charges a $2.75 service fee. The server had no idea how much the service fee was. Sure she didn't...The portions were okay, not too small, not generous, either. The pulled pork was competent, but not a stand out. The meat was average to low quality. Not a lot of smoky flavor. The ribs looked under-cooked and were definitely not fall-off-the-bone like a good barbeque rib should be. My one companion said they were "alright".The so-called "Polish sausage" was a hideous, low-quality highly pulverized version that anyone in the Buffalo area ought to be ashamed to serve, especially as a featured meat in a barbeque. If any place on earth should have stand-out sausages, it should be any restaurant in Western New York, especially, if not specifically, the Polish sausage.Don't get exited over the pictures of the mac-and-cheese. That's not what it looks like. This was a boring SYSCO mac-and-cheese with cracker crumbled on the top. The cracker had an unpleasant after-taste. The mac-and-cheese was bland and had zero character to it. It was anything but cheesy, gooey and tangy. The sodas. You get charged over $1.50 per can - no fountain option. Ridiculous.I should have walked out when I first looked at the menu and noticed the turkey and brisket are an additional up-charge. Cornbread costs extra. Anything and everything is extra. The menu is actually deceptive because of this. If you're looking for brisket, add about $1.50 to everything. Want cornbread? Add at least $2. Being a foodie and one who enjoys exploring the many restaurants Western New York has to offer, I have run across duds. Most duds I walk out of with a neutral impression because the effort was still competent. Suzy's falls near the extreme end of the dud scale, well into being a disappointment. Do not believe the hype on this place, trust your gut and go elsewhere.
