Find out what Barbecue restaurants to try in Fatima. Lovely as it is, this little country town of less than 8,000 about 75 miles north of Lisbon wouldn’t be on the radar if it weren’t for its most famous citizens: the three shepherd children who, in 1917, saw monthly visions of the Virgin Mary in the Cova da Iria pasture. Today, the site is marked by the Basílica de Fátima, where pilgrims come on the 13th of every month to honor the Virgin and her young visionaries, especially in May and October, when the apparitions originally began and ended.

Good food and helpful staff (despite having to ask several times for the side dishes...). We had the "Charbonada mista" which was basically a plate with different uncooked meats we cooked ourselves at the table, under a "chimney" of sorts (mind you, they advertise these things suck out all the odors, but we left smelling as if we were grilling meat for hours...). Desserts were very good (ask for the chocolate cake, you won't regret it!) and the final price quite fair.

Buffet restaurant and "à la carte" service in the center of Fátima! We are experts in all the typical Brazilian food with the seasoning and flavor of Brazil, but here you can also taste various other Portuguese and European dishes ... Self-service | Free
Typical buffet, you need to select from the freshly offered dishes and ignore the ones that are past their sell by date (the chips were well past on the day we visited)But on balance, very good value in an overpriced tourist trap only a couple of hundred metres from the Fatima sanctuary, close to the Wax Museum. It's â¬7 for the starter/main food buffet, +â¬1.50 for a drink/bebida (beer, wine or soft drink) AND a coffee (beautifully strong) and another â¬1.50 for dessert/sobramesa. â¬10 for a very acceptable lunch is a bargain.
