Reviews on Barbecue food in Ercolano, Province of Naples, Italy. Ercolano [erkoˈlaːno] is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania of Southern Italy. It lies at the western foot of Mount Vesuvius, on the Bay of Naples, just southeast of the city of Naples. The medieval town of Resina - read Resìna - was built on the volcanic material left by the eruption of Vesuvius (79 CE) that destroyed the ancient city of Herculaneum, from which the present name is derived. Ercolano is a resort and the starting point for excursions to the excavations of Herculaneum and for the ascent of Vesuvius by bus. The town also manufactures leather goods, buttons, glass, and the wine known as Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ).

Visited here with my partner on our last night in Greece and was not disappointed! We wanted somewhere local to where we were staying, and found this gem just around the corner. The food was well priced and delicious, and the staff polite and courteous (even though they did not speak much English!) My partner had a cheese risotto, not being a seafood fan. He struggled to finish, meaning I had to take the baton and can most certainly confirm that it was delicious. I went for the grilled seafood (prawns, clam and swordfish) and was not disappointed. The clam was the biggest I have ever had, the prawns were succulent and easy to peel and the swordfish tender and flavourful. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our food, and would most certainly return if we ever find ourselves in the area!

The owners were very friendly and accommodating - they offered to translate their seasonal menu and explain what went into the dishes. A great little family owned/run restaurant, pasta was delicious. They provide bread, and wine is cheap. Excellent food and service, would highly recommend and go again.

Fab 'fritti' (fried veg and not only), fab veg (seasoned and 'just pan treated') there where vegetables and fruits grow in the volcano's soil Will surprise you, in a difficult environment as S.G. a Cremano, 10' off Ercolano. 'Scue' scue' spaghetto (fast fresh tomato sauce) not so outstanding, what at the contrary is the 'friittata di maccheroni'. At a very, very good rate.

This was the most disappointing meal we had in Naples. The food wasnât bad. It just wasnât up to the standards weâve been spoilt it in Naples. The highlights: â Eggplant Parmesan. This was very good. The highlight of the meal. â Spaghetti with clams. This was decent but not great. I really like the el dente cooked pasta in general in Italian restaurants but this was really too undercooked.â Gnocchi with tomato sauce: This is something we could have easily had In the US. The tomato sauce was nothing special and certainly not the high quality typically available in Naples. â Pizza with tomatoes four different types. In one word: disappointing.Dear customers We are very sorry to read that your experience has not been in line with your expectations. Letâs answer to each point. The pasta. Our pasta itâs artisanal and, as every kind of artistanal pasta, is imperfect unlike the industrial ones and probably the perception you had itâs due to the amid that this kind of pasta releases during cooking time and of course industrial kind of pasta does not have this amount of amid released. About the pizza. We make pizza with the best raw materials and we use fresh and seasonal tomatoes. About the gnocchi. We are very happy to read that in the USA you have good gnocchi as we have! Beside the joke: if you are still in Naples we would be happy to cook for you once again (please ask the staff for the General Manager) to introduce you in our world.

We chose this on the basis of online reviews, and it fully justified our choice. The staff were a little surprised to see us: this is not a tourist restaurant, we were the only non-Italians there, and they only have the menu in Italian. But they were very hospitable, and the menu was mouthwatering. It was slightly daunting as it was clearly structured for you to have a four-course meal, but they didn't bat an eyelid whn my wife ordered a starter and a secondi, and I ordered a primi and a secondi. And they were all excellent: the meat was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and everything else lived up to that standard. The wine-list was one of the most extensive I have seen, with wines ranging from 14 - 300 euros a bottle. We went in at the modest end, and had a bottle of local Gragano (a red wine from Sorrento) which was delicious too. We were right only to have gone for two courses, too: we were completely full by the end, and able only to enjoy a couple of excellent coffees before we left. Lovely food, and friendly, helpful (if surprised) staff made this a very enjoyable evening out.

Cucina Tipica Di Carne
After a little effort (the restaurant seemed closed..) we found our way in and were welcomed warmly by Dante... He brought marvellous antipasti, local meats and cheeses with various accompaniments, then Angus beef cooked to absolute perfection, together with just the right amount of vegetables. Dessert was appropriately rich and delicious, the suggested wine an excellent Nero d'Avola and all for a very reasonable total bill. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the ruins at Ercolano... Or indeed anywhere near there.

When you're lost in Ercolano as we where (what to do in Ercolano for a week when you're not visiting Herculaneum and Pompeii) this place gives you a really warm welcome to the locals and good food too! But please remind; it's a bar, so don't go for the Aperol Pritz and espresso with sambucca, but taste one of the great beers and spoil yourself with a very tasty hamburger, their service is excellent and they are happy to advice you even when you don't speak Italian! The place is not easy to find, just walk to the end of the map where TripAdvisor advices you to go. You have to go up a stair to reach the terras. They are open from about 20hrs, instead of 19hrs.Thank you Esme D,it was an honor for us to have had a pleasant evening. See you soonEmanuele

The service was nice but oh God the food was horrific. Neither my wife or I finished our meal. I have no clue how this place is ranked #1. Also, their credit card machine is broken. How convenient, so cash only. Nice people though. Skip this place.
