It is part of the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. The population was 65,834 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1772, the town contains the B. & O. Railroad Museum's branch at the Ellicott City Station, built in 1830 as the first terminus of the initial line. The downtown historic district is located in the valley of the small Tiber River, with its east end abutting the Patapsco River, which forms the Baltimore County line. As of the 2000 census, Ellicott City surpassed Towson (county seat of neighboring Baltimore County) for the first time, as the largest unincorporated county seat in the country.

Our Harley Owners Group sponsored a motorcycle ride from Cockeysville to the Mission BBQ in Ellicott City. We enjoyed a leisurely ride thru the countryside to Ellicott City. We arrived, ordered our food, and found a place to enjoy our lunches. Just a little after 12 noon, the Manager announced that the audio/visual system was down. He asked if we would all stand and sing our National Anthem. It was even more moving than watching and listening to the National Anthem on their TVs. Mission BBQ honors all of our service people each day with a noon time celebration. First let me say that I LOVE Korean BBQ. I usually visit at least one of these restaurants in every state that I travel. By far, this location ranks at the top of the list. Savory, juicy, seasoned to perfection, tasty meats paired with tasty sides, good music, and lively atmosphere makes Honey Pig Restaurant destination dining. I highly recommend this location.

First time going here. We went based on recommendations and reviews on here. This place is super clean, the staff were very helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Having sampled a number of their dishes, my favorite is the marinated beef. We will certainly be back in the future and highly recommend this place!!

We stopped in here for a quick pre-concert meal. Hubby ate here in years past and still like their pulled chicken. The sandwiches were overloaded with chicken and the add-your own sauce is pretty good. I liked Red, Hot and Blue when they were in business but we don't have them anymore...also I had some potato salad (the sour cream kind) which to me had no flavor. Hubby got to finish that. He also got his usual coleslaw and said that it was good. I have given them a 5 instead of my usual 4 because they were so quick with our order that night. Very good!

Our 8-person office went here for a holiday lunch and it was a great choice! The meat is delicious-- I especially liked the Hawaiian bulgogi and spicy pork. The "all you can eat" lunch menu has various meats with different marinades (chicken, pork, beef) and you cook them at your table (the staff will help as needed). We also enjoyed grilled vegetables, green salad, noodles, rice bowls, several condiment/sides (different radishes or pickled vegetables), as well as 4 different dipping sauces. This set up worked really well people could try different things, but also stick to various dietary limitations-- i.e., no pork, no spicy, no rice, etc. We were all seated at one table and cooking and passing items around added to some "team" feeling-- it was relaxing and we all ate well!
