Underwood's is unique BBQ, especially for Central Texas. Their approach is more like TN where the BBQ is more about the sauce, and less about the smoke. Even so, it is very good tasting BBQ and sides/desserts that go with the meats are of a wide variety and all good. It is especially hard to resist taking their apple, cherry, or peach cobbler, and to top it off they have a server coming around the tables with dollops of whipped cream to enhance the already great flavor.Don't pass up the opportunity to try this restaurant.

This place is not worth anyone's time. The service is AWFUL. You would think you would market your place instead of being standoffish. I ordered brisket and slaw. The brisket was spread across the bread really, really thin. The slaw is a tablespoon helping at best. The sweet tea was the best thing about the place. This food was not tasty at all. This place has all the signs of not prospering. Bad service, bad food, and bad attitude.

We had the 3 meat plate, and based on Texas portions, thought it would feed the 3 of us. They gave small portions of the 3 meats. The meat was awesome and very smoky. Not as good as some Austin BBQ spots but good nonetheless. We had delicious fries and pinto beans as sides. Some buttery hot rolls came out of the oven too. Seems you have to ask for honey and pickles. We would go again if we were in town.

You're not there for the ambiance- an eclectic assortment of old photos, stuffed animals, firearms, and highway signs. Sit near the small barrel stove near the kitchen. We ate at Lemon's twice. Both times the brisket was outstanding. You select your side dishes to include salads, potatoes and vegetables. Roll and drink comes to $10 on average. An unusual setting on a side street but worth the search. Very friendly staff. A definite stop!
