Dublin (formerly, Amador and Dougherty's Station) is a suburban city of the East (San Francisco) Bay and Tri-Valley regions of Alameda County, California, United States. Located along the north side of Interstate 580 at the intersection with Interstate 680, roughly 35 miles (56 km) east of downtown San Francisco, 23 miles (37 km) east of downtown Oakland, and 31 miles (50 km) north of downtown San Jose, it was referred to as "Dublin" in reference to the city of Dublin in Ireland because of the large number of Irish who lived there. This restaurant is one of our favorite go-to places in Dublin. We've never had a bad meal here. The meats are cooked right. The sauces are tasty. The sides are wonderful. My favorites are the peanut slaw and the corn salad. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that, the last time we were there, we noticed that they have added extra seats and this has made the place very cramped. Who wants to weave through a maze of seats while carrying a tray full of sizzling meat? Well, I do and that's why we'll be back.

I like Chili's food -- well done menu, tasty food. But, in general, staff training is poor. Certainly this was true for the Pleasanton location. Our waiter was friendly and attentive -- top marks in this area. But, when we were seated, they had to clear a table for us. Literally all the tables around us required clearing. It looked as though there had been a food fight in the area where we were seated -- napkins and food on the floor, tables askew -- a real mess. Of course this was a serious put-off for us, we went ahead and ordered. Eventually the messy tables were cleared, but no one made much of an effort. Then two members of staff dragged chairs across the tile floor to do some re-arranging. The noise was awful -- one of those chilling, screetching sounds. One wonders how anyone could do this in the presence of clients. One of my daughters wanted to leave because of the horrible sound.I hope someone from Chilis reads this. Good food alone is not enough to bring me back. Better training is a must.
"Serving the best BBQ with the finest Southern Hospitality"
Well, this place took over Elephant Bar, which I liked. So, now that it's been rebuilt as Lucille's we decided to give it a shot for lunch. Bad news. It's nice enough atmosphere. And that's the only good part. We were seated fast, and appeared good service, at first. The waitress asked if we were on tight schedule or not (it was on lunch hour, but we retired) we said plenty of time. Took our order, we had 2 item lunch plate which had one side and we both had additional house salad with blue cheese dressing. We though once we ordered it might be good experience, especially since the waitress asked if we were on a rush or not. Well, first error, we got half carafe of sangria, which barely filled the two glasses, 14 bucks. Next, my side, which was corn cob, they ran out of. Not sure who is managing, it that made no sense. Then we got our meal, very fast but no salads in sight. So, we decided that since we now eating our main dish that we tell the waitress to cancel salads and remove from the bill. So then salads were to be delivered and we no longer wanted them. So why ask if we on a rush? Salads should have come before main dish. Now, the Mack and cheese had absolutely no cheese flavor, very bland. Our meats were cooked ok, but not too much seasoning and only flavor from BBQ sauces, which weren't anything to write home about. Since it's a smokehouse I think their meats should have good flavor on their own and sauce should enhance the flavor. So, waitress appeared to not care too much about our issues and just going through the motions. So, with missing and bland overpriced food, we will not be returning to lucilles, and also inform our relatives who also are wondering about this place not to bother. There are many other well established restaurants in the area that we like to pick from.
