Midwood Smokehouse is where the neighborhood gets their barbecue fix. Our pitmasters burn hickory wood 24 hours a day, seven days a week to bring our customers the barbecue they crave. We set our standards high and cook our meats, low and slow. The vibe i
While out visiting Charleston and Columbia, we came across Midwood Smokehouse. This was truly an incredible find. The food and atmosphere was the best. The staff was friendly. The Brisket and Pulled Pork were trended and juicy. The flavor was impeccable. They had several types of sauce to put on your dish, or you can eat it without. My two favorite sauces were the original and the Chipotle BBQ sauce. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped in here for lunch on the way to vacation. Had every intention on going next door to Pawleys but it was too long of a wait, so we made an excellent decision to go next door. I am a BBQ connoisseur and do my own smoking and love trying BBQ from around the country. I had the Southern Belly Dipper and the wife had the Grilled Cheese. Both were dynamite sandwiches. This place had amazing flavor and moisture to their meat and their sauces are fantastic. Some of the best fries as well. Kids even enjoyed it, and they are hard to please. For my first Carolina BBQ experience, this was a home run.

Docâs BBQ and Southern Buffet is located just close enough to Downtown Columbia and to I-77 to make it almost impossible to pass up as a frequent lunch-time meetinâ and eatinâ place for business folk, university staff and students, Fort Jackson soldiers a
The wife and I went there I had the barbecue, rice hash, coleslaw and green beans, fried chicken & peach pie. Everything was really good. They had the BBQ mustard base, vinegar, mild, hot on the side so you can choose which flavor you wanted. The whole meal was really good. It was lunchtime so everything was fresh and they kept the heat bar full. The only bad part was the crust of the peach pie was too hard, from the pan that I got. But Iâll go again in a few months.

The brisket is tasty but out of a pound of it I cut out almost 3oz of fat in my takeout order. That tells me the trim before the cook was a bit lacking. The St Louis style ribs were very good. The beans were quite heavy on the juice and could have taken some thickening up.

Went in there for Sunday brunch. Parking lot 1/2 full. Ordered the Brioche french toast and waited a longtime...came out coldish and not NEAR enough honey/syrup-they brought some more out, and it was like 1/4 ounce(not enuf)..ok, ...then.....bacon, which didn't come....ps after they then rushed to cook some, honestly it came to us 1/4 cooked and I was like"whoa, whoa, whoa" to the waitress-never seen bacon not cooked like that, but she brought it out anyway!-we passed on that..My wife's eggie sammy was a bit sogged with butter or whatev it was. Home fries OK. Iced tea, good. Waitress sorta trying, sorta cavalier, sorta whatever. Hmmmm....anyway, I want to go somewhere where the food tastes better/different than what i can whip up at home. We could have easily beat this. Sorry to be so picky-keepin' it real tho. Restaurant had good atmosphere. Maybe we hit it on off time?
