Went with colleagues at lunch. Service is good but the food was just meh. The brisket lacked any flavor until dipped in bbq sauce, sausage was good. The potato salad was runny. Highlight of our meal was the fried okra, and even thereâs only so much of that one can eat.

Went here after trying one of their other restaurants earlier in the week. Had ribs, brisket and pulled pork with fries and beans. It was brilliant. My wife had turkey and spicy sausage with butternut squash mash and mac and cheese. She really enjoyed and said it was best turkey she has ever had. There was also a toppings bar (onions, pickle, etc). Highly recommended. If in the area eat here!

THE southern komfort KITCHEN, in La Porte, TX, prepares food from scratch -- like Grandma used to make. Southern American food done the old-fashioned way.
Returning after being gone for three years and brought a first time guest. Appetizer was gumbo and out of bounds delicious my lunch was the Cheddar Soup with vegetables. My guest had the vegetable plate with dinner salad and their home made blue cheese dressing. Fried Okra, Broccoli Rice Casserole and Macaroni and Cheese. Yes the entire lunch was outstanding. So get on in here and enjoy what we already know. Retired Chef Gene
I popped in by chance during a business trip to Houston. The ambiance is very warm and friendly, it seems that the owner knows everybody dropping in. I had the feeling of beeing in a small village restaurant, clean and with a very kind service.Food was very good even I can't tell if it was the real south BBQ because this was the first time for me in the deep south. I really enjoyed the meal.Nice place to pick up if you are with friends or with your family just outside Houston..

Don't pass this place up if you want some good Texas style BBQ! I had the 2 meat plate and enjoyed their brisket and turkey both were moist and savory with a hint of BBQ sweetness.

I love the taste of their BBQ, especially their chopped beef. Servers are always very friendly and location is convenient. However, EVERY time I ate there, I was sick for at least a day afterward. Sadly, others have told me the same thing. I had to give it up :(
