Although I could have used a "Korean BBQ 101' cheat-sheet, we all really enjoyed this place, the food, and the nice people! We did not need to order any more than 3 meats which were all great and then all the salads just kept coming and were very tasty, even if I did not know what a couple of them were until I asked. ;)

We arrived at noon time on a Saturday. Parking was easy. The restaurant is small. Seating is two rows of 4 picnic style arrangements per row along the wall and small tables were in the middle. (Capacity is approximately 54 people.) Friendly greeting by cashiers as you walk in. The staff brought out a high chair and moved tables to accommodate our family. Order and payment were taken at the cashier. Our group ordered Sandwiches 101, 405 and 710. We also had two Brisket Bowls and Loaded Fries with Brisket. The food was delivered to our table. Other times, the âDine Inâ number on receipt was heard. I noticed someone coming in for takeout. He was here for only 5 minutes. I had a Brisket Bowl and was unable to finish the large amount of tasty food. The family enjoyed their meals.Note: The nervous leg shaking from seated person behind me shook my bench seat due to the connected benches. Choose carefully where you sit.

I took the family here for Thanksgiving dinner instead of the usual turkey. We all agreed that this was the right choice since there was no preparation, cooking or clean up. We also made sure not too dress too nicely since we knew we would be smelling like BBQ after all the table cooking we would have to do.We arrived before five thinking that Gen would be crowded like it normally is but we were surprised that the place was not even half full. We still had to wait for almost 20 minutes since there was not enough servers. The queue behind us continued to grow but it was not until once the next shift showed up for work then the queue started to get seated. However once we got seated we quickly made our choices but still had to wait for our waiter as he was still servicing his other tables. The policy of ordering the meats is only four meat dishes ordered at each round and you cannot order more than one of the same dish. For the non meat dishes you can order at the same time as the meat without limits.Together we finished off 17 orders of meats and seafood. Most of the pork and beef orders came out in roughly 2 strips each, calamari was one rectangle, shrimp was only five each time and the bulgolgi came in a bowl. Overall the best dishes were the Cajun shrimp, Hawaiian steak, Kalbi and the all pork belly varieties. We were bummed that they ran out of tongue. Overall the meats were easy to cook and the controls for the gas grill easy to modify at the end of the table. The veggie plate was a joke with cuts of bell peppers, onions, zucchini and slices of corn on the cob. The japchae noodles were disappointing with the portion size and lack of meat. The tastiest non meat dish was the fried dukboki with a sweet and sour sauce. If you are still hungry after eating all this meat then you can buy macaroon ice cream sandwiches separately for your dessert (3.49 each I think).Service was efficient and each time the meat dishes were delivered the waiter took our next round of meat orders. The pace was slow initially but picked up once we got into the routine of cooking and eating.Definitely worth a return visit.

"Serving the Best Bar-B-Que with the Finest Southern Hospitality"
I loved the down home feel and home cook'in foods at this restaurant. Built like an old fashion down south real BBQ diner that just invites you in for a great meal. Loved our lunch/dinner here. All the food was delicious!BOTTOM LINE: Yes, yes, this restaurant is worth your visit! If you love good BBQ meats, I had the Tri-Tip BBQ and it was the best I have ever eaten anywhere! My wife had a Chicken Caesar salad the was huge and delicious. I really liked the personal touch of the ambiance this place exudes. Another in our party had a half-slab of pork ribs that were incredible. You got to try this place out. If you love real BBQ, you got'a try Lucille's! Worth every penny! Our service was excellent. We came away full and satisfied. We loved the home cooked biscuits and honey butter not to mention the home style corn bread I chose as one of my sides. Their menu has something for everyone. This restaurant works well for family or for groups of friends.

Their ribs do not have lot of meat on them, hence the title of my review. Their other meats - the brisket, pulled pork and chicken are dry and over-smoked. And they are expensive, given the quality of their food. This is a favorite among tourists, though. Dickey's Barbecue is a much a better choice, in my opinion.

The Korean bbq itself makes for a great time together with any family or group. But GEN brings it one step above the others with their service, atmosphere, and of course food! Whether it's family, or co workers, it fits the bill for food, fun, and togetherness.

Everything we ordered was excellent with the exception of the peach cobbler. Especially liked the mashed sweet potatoes. We had a friendly greeting and a very good waiter. Nice big booth which we requested. This restaurant is actually quiet, which is rare these days. Wish it was closer to home.
