The restaurant is in the basement of the Posada with about 10 tables, we were lucky to get in, and we are guests here.No fish, not much vegetarian food, you need to be a meat eater here. All the meat is locally grown and is top notch, comes on a hot stone, so you cook it to your own taste. Leave it on a bit longer if you want it well done.Although we were first in, before long it was packed and is good value for money, a nice atmosphere and totally charming.Would we come again, maybe but I am a fish eater so my choices were limited. We enjoyed every minute despite that!

Stopped here on a roadtrip back from Yuste, Extremadura to my base in Castile and Leon. It is located right next to the chruch in the main plaza, you can't miss it with its green banners flying outside. Menus are in both Castellano (Spanish) and Portuguese, so I assume many Portuguese come by here as it is close to the border.The food was quite good...I ordered the Bacalao dressed in tomato sauce and it was very good to say the least! I was expecting a little piece of fish, but I was surprised to see the whole cod come out, really pleasantly surprised! It was nice and flaky when bit so the texture was good. Bread was included and it had the interesting shape of a turtle (see my pictures) that was memorable, don't see that in any of the places I live!I also ordered a coke which was brought out in one of those original coke glasses. It tasted like it used natural sugar like the glass ones back home so that might be a plus. Service was prompt and efficient, so no complaints there.One last note: I think they charge more if you elect to eat on the terrace in the main plaza so take that in mind. On the day I was there it was cloudy, but on a sunny day, I might have sat on the terrace!

En una bonita finca en el pueblo de Peñacaballera.Antonio y Clara gestionan este restaurante de forma magnifica.Buen servicio, con buena carta de platos y vinos.Excelente ensalada de tomate de su huerta, sabrosos pimientos rellenos de rabo de toro, muy buen carpaccio de ciervo con pera caramelizada, extraordinaria variedad de carnes de vaca normal o vieja y de ternera (Chuletones, entrecot ...) buenos postres caseros.He ido varias veces y siempre hemos quedado contentos.Precios contenidos. Muy recomendable.
