We stopped here while motorcycling on a nice fall day. The smell as we approached was enticing enough! We like barbecue and have visited many places in the area- Billiken's was the best in terms of portion size (I had a brisket platter that had 3 huge slices of brisket- took about half home), quality of the meat and the price was equivalent to other places- for much more food. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that a couple of side dishes were not available (this was at 2pm on a Saturday). But overall, the best BBQ we've had in central VA. We will definitely be back.
Highly recommended. Chicken was great, but the ribs were spectacular! I'm not normally a fan of smoked meats, but it's obvious now that I never had properly smoked meats. Not overwhelming with the smoking, and the meat literally falls off the bone! Highly recommended.
superb service, super friendly people... onion ings among best i've ever had and the serving is huge, real pork bbq is excellent by itself, but the sweet sauce complements it nicely. the "mild" sauce was yoo spicy for my weenie palate and i did not even try the hot- though my travel companion gobbled down her sandwich with it. staff let me try meat and sauces prior to ordering and were just as friendly as possible. plan to go back to try some of the other entrees- they have full service menu. prices very reasonable
