Family friendly destination food venue in Warburton. We offer both inside and outdoor kids play areas.
Our experience: We (2 couples) popped in here last night for some food & drinks. Our order requests (slightly different to the menu) were honoured without quibble which was good. My order, Scampi was overcooked as were the chips and I'm not sure what was in my sauce pot before I got it (evidence of a previous sauce in the bottom) so that was a downer... Everyone else in our party had no issues. Otherwise it's a great pub, looking fresh, had a great atmosphere and a good selection of beers & spirits - would recommend

Lovely country pub serving beautiful homemade food with a great selection of wine and cask beers. A warm welcome always awaits.
What a find, we were on the motorway and pulled off, I used trip advisor to find nearest nice eatery and this was close to the top and Iâm grateful. The staff were so friendly and happy to server even though it was 5 minutes before restaurant closing time. The food was way above my expectations piping hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our food and would happily have stayed longer and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. I believe we were served by the owners and I would like to congratulate them on a well run friendly eatery. If your in the area I really canât recommend this venue enough. Thank you

We used to be great fans of the Wheatsheaf "pie & a pint" Thursdays and were sad when the old regime left. Seeing that Ian Rayton's pies were back we decided to give it another try. First the plus. The pub has certainly been spruced up & is very much smarter than before. However, there was general disappointment with the meals. Ian's pies they were but the slices were much smaller than previously as were the portions of chips. I had the cheese & onion & maybe because I opted not to have gravy (because I don't think it goes well with cheese & onion") my pie was a little dry. One accepts that prices must go up particular when there has been a not inexpensive refurbishment. One also accepts that under previous management the prices represented extremely good value. However, it was overall a disappointing return - or maybe we had been expecting too much. Many thanks for returning to us and giving us a try, on the portion size ian cuts the pies up still the same as he always has done.We offer a homemade pie, homemade chips and a drink of your choice for £11.95 which after extensive research in the area offers the best value for money in the area compared to other pubs.As to the cheese & onion being a little dry because you opted not to have gravy with it the pie was freshly baked that day, with the average price of a pint being around £4.00 We provide a homemade pie, waitress service for food and drinks for around £8.00 a meal which we feel is value for money.

Really excellent full of flavour food with friendly staff and good ambience. However, slightly let down by none disability friendly ladies loos. Perhaps from the old days of men only pubs, but now the downstairs loos need to be a unisex disability loo instead.Hello,Thank you for taking time to review the Pickering arms.Really pleased you enjoyed your time with us.With regards to the toilets, I will bring this up with my area manager and see if anything can be done. Thanks again.Christine, Jim and team pick.

From the time we met Jon the happy barman it was obvious that this was a pleasant place to be. The lovely slim girl who assisted us was obliging and equally pleasant . The menu is typical of the traditional pub and the children loved their chicken strips . Regrettably the famous Elliot fish pie which I ordered was disappointing as it was a bowl of mash covering a limited selection of creamed fish. However all the other adults enjoyed their meals so letâs give it another try
