We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon because we heard Clementeâs had the best crab cakes in Astoria. The bartender was awesome and her service was great, but thatâs as good as our experience got. The crab cakes were far too salty and there was not a single piece of lump meat in either cake, they were all leg meat...very disappointing. The side salad that came with them was far better. Would not recommend.

Recommended by friends, we were not disappointed. I had the coq au vin and it was unique and delicious as well as a lot of food. Had it again the next night! My partner had the halibut cheeks which he raved about. Our waitperson was friendly and professional.

Bigfoot Steakhouse used to be my favorite place to go for prime rib and BBQ ribs but with their recent closing, I needed to look for another really good locals comfort food type place. Our other favorite restaurant, Ship Inn in Astoria closed last Spring, that was where we loved to go for the best halibut fish n chips in the area. Well.... Buoy 9 to the rescue! They have both really good fish n chips and prime rib! Great cocktails and friendly service also. Ambiance is very rustic and pretty bare bones so don't go expecting much in that area. This is the place to go if you just want reallly good comfort food! :)

Astoria has exploded over the last five years and much of its old maritime, blue-collar charm has disappeared below the tides of wealth and tourist commerce that have flooded the city. (Five years can't erase 208 years of history though, and curious visitors will find plenty to explore and discover in this extremely photogenic, atmospheric setting at the mouth of the Columbia River.) And the tiny Portway Tavern, out toward the west end of town, offers a fleeting glimpse of the past with understated maritime charm, authentic tavern food, and a laid-back, regular clientele. It advertises itself as "the oldest tavern in the oldest settlement West of the Rockies." Get there before it's gone.

Lunch and Dinner Children's Menu Brewery on site Casual family dining on the waterfront Large Parties & Events with pre-arrangements
We were there on Wednesday for lunch. There were people waiting for tables, so we scored finding two stools at the bar. Our waiter/bartender was attentive and helpful in choosing beer, ciders and food, despite how busy he was. We each ordered a cup of clam chowder and shared the 3 piece Fish and Chips. We enjoyed every spoonful and bite, and were stuffed. Definitely will come back the next time we're here.

Thereâs always something new to try from the breweryâs rotating taps, including taster trays, pints, and growlers-to-go. The lively public house offers family-friendly dining with made-from-scratch meals using organic, natural, and local ingredients. An up
My wife and I stopped in again for lunch. We chose to sit on the first floor this time as we had lunch on the second floor the last time we visited. The menus are different on each floor, so it just depends what you are after they particular day. Upstairs menu is pizza based with salads. The pizza is cooked in their wood fired pizza oven. They use Oregon oak to keep the pizza oven temperature consistent at 600-700 degrees. The pizzas are very good. Downstairs menu is hamburger, sandwich and taco based. I had the pulled pork Sweet Caroline sandwich was very flavorful. They have a full list of beers and wines available on both floors. Good service, good food and an overall good stop anytime you are in the area.

Very fun bar vibe and classy. We ordered off the bar menu-very reasonable prices and portions very adequate. Michelle, a bartender there, was a pleasure. Answered all our questions-multiple times. If youâre in Astoria itâs an enjoyable bar.

We have been several times over the past couple of years... really good breakfasts... tasty and ample portions. Good selection and always a friendly wait staff...I do have to agree with another reviewer... it can be depressing to see people at the bar at 9 in the morning... but we'll keep going back for the food!

The view is great, the glass floor with the sea lions is fun, and food is wonderful! The atmosphere is pub like. The wait staff busy, but helpful. The clams I had were the best I've ever had. In fact everyone at my table thought so, so we came back the next day so they could order them. Great!

Good food and good time
Having recently relocated to the area, my real estate agent recommended that we stop at Bubba's for lunch while touring houses. Heard all the hype from local friends and my agent but I was skeptical. Upon arriving we were greeted by the bartender and staff, including the owner himself. We ordered lunch and I've got to say, it was an amazing burger! Local micros on tap plus a few old standbys. Canned and bottled selection is ample. Want to watch sports? This is the place. You're only a stranger once. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
