The Loose Wheel is a sport-themed restaurant, featuring home-style food, large portions, and affordable prices.
Quite a breakfast selection on the weekends with large portions. Food quality was impressive for the âbar and grillâ title. Service was prompt and friendly. Parking is plenty for the weekend breakfast (only served till noon). Lots of seating inside. Better coffee than most diners. Beer and beverages also available with brunch. Southwest Omelet & build your own weâre donât well and full of flavor. Tots were crispy & sweet potato fries were nice alternative option. Recommend above any diner or chain restaurants for sure. Will try again.

The Beach Tavern is a UP staple. While it has grown over the years...it is still the same. They have done some updating and made things a lot nicer, so it feels a little different than it did 15 years ago...but still a special place.Whenever I go, I get the "Linda Special." It is not on the menu, but you can ask for it. Linda has a few specials, so you might need to clarify with her which one you are referring to....but the one I get is hands down....one of the best sandwiches in the city. It is grilled sour dough bread with turkey, bacon, cheese, and tomato. What makes it special is the thousand island dressing slathered inside...try one, you won't be disappointed. Make sure you ask for the fries...otherwise you might get potato chips.Other than that....the rest of the reviews give you additional insights as to why you should put "The Beach" on your list of places to try.

Pacific Grill is Tacoma's Premier Dining Destination. Housed at the Historic Waddell Building in the heart of Downtown Tacoma, Pacific Grill is the perfect location for a delicious dinner, business lunch, Boozy Weekend Brunch or Happy Hour. Past Food & Wi
This restaurant is next to the courtyard Marriott so a great location if you are staying there. I wanted to venture to Wooden City, but this was just so convenient. I sat at the bar, good service. They do add a 20% gratuity - yes even if you are alone - but itâs very clear on the receipt. They have extended Happy Hour hours. The food was good - especially if you are paying HH prices. I thought the wine pours were generous. I had a Caesar salad (too much cheese and dressing) and a flatbread.

Great service, beer, and burgers. The hamburger is ground on the premises. Huge selection of North West beers. Great place to watch sports events! Staff is friendly and up beat. Highly recommend the Ale House burger paired with an Elysian Space Dust. Good times...

The food here is somewhat disappointing given the location. Fish & chips were over-priced, fries were below average, soft drink was an off-brand instead of coke or pepsi, and the service while pleasant, was a little slow considering the place was half empty. Not sure why I had to wait 15 minutes for a table in a room that was not even half full..There are much nicer places to eat within walking distance of Dukes and the prices are similar for what is a much better experience.

Good, hard working staff serving above average dinners. Front desk folks need retraining about putting the 80- somethings next to the family of seven with babies. But a good stop ( with our coupons. )

Close to the U of Puget Sound campus, Red Hot is a fun place to stop in for a beer and hot dog -- and to try all their amazing varieties of both.It has a comfortable tavern feel -- the many booths are cozy. The vegan and veggie options make it great for selective eaters. We enjoyed the Tacoma Dog, North End Dog, and the Hound Dog (yes, peanut butter and bacon!).

Based on a recommendation from a mutual friend, we tried this restaurant. It was also reviewed in Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The food was excellent. I had the Twisted Reuben and it was delicious. They do offer gluten free buns for $2.00 more. There is no parking lot, so finding a spot on the street can be a little tricky. There are plenty of side streets nearby to park on.

This place with excellent views of the Sound and the Tacoma Narrows is a nice spot to chill, particularly on a warm, sunny day. Unfortunately even on a weekday we arrived for lunch at 1:30 and it was a 20 minute wait for a table outside. Go earlier (or later) if yo can. We were too hungry to wait. The different fish and chip or fish and seafood chip combos were delicious and filling, a cut above most of the ones in the vicinity. The service was a little perfunctory, but maybe understandable considering how busy it was. Prices average+.

I made a reservation we had a seat with a 180 degree view of the club and the Puget Sound which elevated the whole experience. The food was what you'd expect to get from any moderately priced breakfast restaurant...meaning it was good. The service was prompt, but something got mixed up and my arugula ended up in my husband's food. Not a big deal by any mean, but I would be careful when asking for an adjustment to a dish.
