I had booked a table at this restaurant after reading the reviews stating the restaurant was child friendly and seeing the menus online.Unfortunately we did not even get to the point of being asked if we would like drinks before we left dissappointed. When we arrived for our booking we were promptly taken to our seats and then left alone. On the table was one menu between the four seats and we were not asked if we would like to place a drinks order. When the three of us looked at the menu there was only options for the sunday lunch and nothing else. We waited for a waitress to return to to our table so that I could enquire further about the menu, but no waitress approached our table. The two waitresses that were visible were busy serving one table of 6 people next to us. After a good 7 minutes or so they had still not approached us. I also noted that the couple on the table the other side of us were still sitting with their dirty plates in front of them and had been like that since we walked in. No waitresses had approached their table either. After a few more moments waiting I eventually caught the attention of a waitress and asked if they had a children's menu. I was informed they did not but she had to go and check with a colleague before coming back and confirming that children's meals were merely a smaller portion of the sunday lunch options. She also confirmed that the sunday lunches were the only menus available. Nowhere during my viewing of menus on their website or facebook page do I recall seeing that Sundays were Sunday lunch only. There was no offer to accommodate any off menu requests. Our child is a very fussy eater and will not eat proper lunches so had I been aware of this, I would have not booked. Instead I thought he would be able to choose from another menu so he could at least have a pizza.Sadly, due to this new information we had to find an alternative dining venue.I appreciate that my family's fussy eating is problematic and not the fault of the restaurant, but would have appreciated knowing the restricted menu in advance and feel this should be stated on the online menu views. The intent of this review is not to criticise the menu but to make other families with equally fussy eaters aware of this. My only criticism would really be the lack of attention to the tables by the waiting staff which seemed to be caused by a severe shortness of staff.

A COSY AND CASUAL NEIGHBOURHOOD HANGOUT IN THE HEART OF TYNEMOUTH VILLAGE Serving seasonal, nutritious, locally sourced food crafted in-house to eat in or takeaway, alongside an impressive range of soft and alcoholic beverages, youâll find a warm welcome
Popped in to the Coast Kitchen and Bar with a few friends over the weekend, honestly the food, service and welcome was fantastic, it was a bit of a surprise for one of our party but he, like the rest of us loved it. By the end of the evening all the staff felt like family, definitely our new favourite restaurant, we will be back!

The Gibraltar Rock Tynemouth offers quality food and drinks in a warm and cosy environment. Our Carvery and special desserts are what we're famous for and why lots of you choose us for eating out on special occasions. Our main menu offers a generous selec
Rock hard Yorkshire pudding, uncooked broccoli and ghostly white 'roast' potatoes with no crispness or colour whatsoever let the carvery down today. On the plus side, the carrots and parsnips were lovely. My friend and I both enjoyed our desserts (apple toffee crumble and syrup sponge), served with beautifully smooth custard. The Gib gave good overall value and friendly service as always, but the disappointing elements of the carvery made an 'average' rating the only option on this occasion.

A lovingly restored bar and eatery in the heart of Tynemouth. Youâll find us midway down Tynemouthâs bustling Front Street just through the sleepy arches of the old arcade. Nestled amongst the boutique shops, restaurants, old pubs, surf shops and deliâs t
We used to go here every week but once the chef left and the food quality suffered we stepped back... The replacement chef is OK.... The place is tired now and needs a serious lick of paint too which I am told is happening in August... Fingers crossed as we do like the place and the staff Hi Stephen,We are sorry to hear youâre feeling a little disappointed with Lola Jeans as of late, especially with you being someone who has been a regular guest in the past! We agree that our venues are in need of a little TLC due to the wear and tear our busy weekends bring. With this in mind, we have two big refurbishments planned due in October which weâre very excited about! We canât wait for everyone to see what we have in store. We take great pride in our food quality and quality of service, and will be sure to pass on your comments to the management team to ensure that our food is up to the signature Lola Jeans standard you have come to expect of us. A Saturday morning bike ride with a mid point break at the surf café. Perfect. Without a plan of where to stop for a break during our ride out, we saw the surf café and decided it would be ideal. We planned on getting a drink and a cake but as we were ordering a guy in the kitchen brought out some freshly baked cheese scones. I'm not normally the biggest fan but these did looked really good and as they were warm out of the oven I couldn't resist. I'm so glad I did as it was the best cheese scone I've ever had. You could see the melted cheese stretching as I cut it open and pulled it apart. The coffee and the cakes were spot on too. It has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and is the perfect place to chill. Top marks all round.

We ordered a grilled chicken breast with a sauce, mash and vegetables and I had the fish finger sandwich with double-cooked chips. Great range of beers. Friendly welcome. It's a real local as well as attracting visitors. Both meals were great. My fish finger sandwich looked like home made fish fingers. The chips were excellent so was the tartare sauce. The chicken was delicious apparently. There's a nice community feel- there was a MacMillan coffee morning happening in the other bar. The cakes and coffee looked great. The staff were friendly and really helpful to customers. Food arrived pretty quickly. Portions generous. Everything clean. Prices good. We will be back for the famous pie and chips soon.

Winner Of Best British Newcomer Kebab Restaurant Award. Booking advisable, especially at weekends but walk-in tables always available so please just come on in. Takeaways also available on text and collect from the main restaurant menu and can be booked i
From the minute my booking was confirmed by text my journey of excellence began at Elder & Wolf!As we walked in the door everyone of the staff smiled and welcomed us in - even the guys who were busy cooking over the open wood fire looked up and acknowledged us.The styling of the place is spot on trend, but nothing seems forced, it appears that not only is the welcome genuine - the space and feel of the place is too.We were seated in the back room, having noted that the front "walk in tables" looked comfortable and inviting. The service was spot on, just enough time to consider what to drink: they have a very interesting selection of cocktails and moctails, and lots of different beer & wine choices too. The food menu is different to anything we've had before, so we asked the waitress for her guidance - she could not have been more helpful. Our meals came very quickly, of course we'd ordered the Halloumi Fries, (as all the previous reviewers recommended), and it appeared we had ordered too much! The way the food was presented, the colours and the smells were enticing - we couldn't wait to dig in. The sizzling skillet of prawns; chicken and chorizo was delicious, served with salad and wraps. The chicken with alioli pizza was ever so tasty, so much so, we boxed the last piece up with the remaining Fries to take home! Both of us throughly enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the music. We thought it was great value for money and would certainly recommend to everyone we know.A great place, with great staff, serving great food at a great price! What's not to like? That is one of the best reviews I have ever read about us and I can not thank you enough for mentioning all the amazing staff that really do love working at elder and wolf and meeting all the amazing customers like yourselves who visit us.I could go on and on about all the amazing things you mentioned about your experience but really I just want to thank you for loving what we do because that genuinely makes us all very, very happy and of course grateful too.So please say who you are next time you visit us as it really is great when we can put a face to the positive reviews we get and say thank you personally!Much love,E&W x
