Pub serving good food: A place to get modern comfort food in a casual pub setting; a laid-back place where reservations aren't needed, but sharing tables may be required; you might just have a drink, maybe a nibble, or perhaps a three course meal.
We ate dinner at the Shoreham Inn recently, and, as usual, it did not disappoint. They had a new menu of specialty drinks and the ones we had were inventive and very tasty. There were 6 of us, and we split the tomato-and-mozzerella plate and caesar salads among us as appetizers. Both used fresh, local ingredients and were excellent. As main courses, we enjoyed the pork loin, strip steak, and salmon dishes. While the salmon was a bit dry, everything else was flavorful and cooked perfectly. If you eat here, DO NOT miss the desserts! Particularly outstanding are the banana cream pie (the best we've ever had, really), and the carrot cake. You get a lot of bang for your buck at the Shoreham Inn, including a warm, welcoming atmosphere from waitstaff to bartender to the chef. While it is out of the way for most (unless you are taking the ferry to or from Ticonderoga, NY), it is well worth the stop. You'll feel welcomed like a local, even if you are from "away".

On a long drive from North Jersey to Burlington Vermont, this is where I stopped for lunch along the way. Everything around Lake George seemed to be closed for the season so when I saw Emerald's II, I pulled right in. (Menu said Emeralds II even though I've seen it listed as Emeralds). I sat at the bar and had Crab Bisque soup and mozzarella sticks. One of the owners, Mark, was the cook and the other owner is his wife, Erin who was the bartender. Nicest lady in the world. Place was empty but I think I was pretty early. More people came in as I was finishing up. My soup was delicious and my mozzarella sticks were great, too. Erin knew every single person that came into the place. It was that kind of vibe. Like small-town friendly, which I love. There was another guy sitting at the bar having lunch and he was friendly as well so overall it was a great experience for me, not knowing what to expect. (Isn't that the fun of it?)

Culinary offerings are a unique and delicious part of your Fort Ticonderoga experience! America's Fort Café features localvore dining in a cozy family setting. Savor fresh salads from Fort Ticonderoga's King's Garden and enjoy a wide variety of sandwiches
While the sandwich when arrived was okay, and two of the the three young gals behind the counter were friendly, the one hour wait was totally unnecessary. Only two people in the kitchen, and from my vantage point I could see how slowly the person making the sandwiches moved. I suggest the manager take the employees to an efficient kitchen for training. In addition one of the waitstaff when asked by a customer who much longer for their order, had a temper tantrum, she stormed away, went in the kitchen kicked and and threw items. The fact that there is a sign when you arrive " we cook to order and thank you for your patience" indicates this hour wait is acceptable. Just what to give a heads up for visitors. if you see more that a four people in the cafe you might want to look for other dining options.Thank you for your review. Our organization strives for excellence in all we do and we are disappointed your experience in our café did not reflect that. We are addressing your concerns with staff and hope that you will visit us again soon!

Too bad there are railroad tracks across the street but, if you block those outta your view it IS a nice view..! This must be a local favorite because the place was pretty busy for a Thursday night. Our waitress [the owner] was busy as a one armed paper hanger but, was VERY friendly.. This is a very "comfortable" place to eat. Casual but clean and it seems like they try to make you feel right at home. The food was very good. I actually wasn't expecting that, as this is a small town. I had the broiled Salmon and, had a generous portion of tasty fish. While I can't give this FIVE stars, It's as GOOD as it gets in Ticonderoga.!!

My wife and I ate at a number of restaurants in Ticonderoga and were appalled at the overall low quality of the ones we tried. The Burgoyne Grill was tied with the diner at the Fort as the best place in town. Most dishes we tried were o.k. For my first dinner, I ordered a steak medium-rare and it came medium-well with a luke warm baked potato. The steak went back to the kitchen and I got a new one which was somewhere between medium-well and medium with another luke warm potato. At that point I gave up and ate it. You probably do not want to order anything involving steak or baked potatoes. All other meals were o.k. Our first waitress (Amy???) was excellent.
