Newbury's newest kid on the block. We've found ourselves a beautiful home here on the Market Place. Here at The Elephant At The Market we love our food. So we keep things simple by doing our best to pick quality ingredients, cooked perfectly to give you l
We took our Daughter and Grandaughter out for a meal, before our Grandaughter took part in a show at the Corn Exchange. The food was good value and well presented and we will likely go there again when we visit the same theatre this year.Hello Claytoa, We're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit before the theatre and look forward to seeing you again! Kind regards, The Elephant at the Market

We booked a table for two for a relaxing Friday evening. Lovely quirky gastro pub in a nice setting. Food was nice but too experimental and lacked the quality a Michelin starred establishment would provide. Our main criticism is that the staff seemed to be on another planet, minimal engagement or positivity. At one point we felt the plates were just dumped in front of us which seemed abit rude. I can totally appreciate the stresses of a busy restaurant but there were only two table occupied (including ours) and the whole environment lacked atmosphere and occupation.

EAT, DRINK & ENJOY !!... Beautiful Country Pub in stunning location... boasting a large garden & stone patio perfect for those summer evenings!! Creative British menu with daily specials & lighter lunch-time offerings... Amazing food, stunning wines, Visu
Really enjoyed the food and the service was very good - particularly noteworthy as the restaurant was busy when we visited.Unfortunately, the noise level was so high, it was virtually impossible to have a normal conversation. We noticed this as we entered the main restaurant/bar area and were temporarily relieved when we were shown to a table in the conservatory at the rear of the restaurant. However, we were located next to a large group who were very noisy (perfectly well behaved - just loud!) and it really was not possible to talk at times.I feel a little guilty providing a lower score for something not in the restaurant's immediate control but on the other hand, you can only report what you experience at the time and the restaurant is ultimately responsible for the table layout, decor and environment. We were looking for a cosy meal for two in a good, country, pub restaurant and did not feel the experience was fully delivered.

We went last week to this inn for a quick lunch to show our four visitors this very old and interesting inn, and church. As it was a hot day we had our very filled and delicious warm baps in the garden. We all (6) very much relaxed and enjoyed our food and the men enjoyed their beers Although the tables were almost all taken, we were quickly served . We then went on to the church. A truly memorable day.

We cater for dining parties up to 60 people.Function room available to hire for birthdays, weddings, christenings, etc. Also bed and breakfast.
The outside was slightly uninspiring, probably because it was winter, the inn sign was missing from its post, the front is basically a car park and location has nothing much around it. We were there for a family meal on the Saturday before Christmss and the inn was quite quiet - I guess most people were out Christmas shopping. It's main claim to fame apparently its Sunday carvery. The interior was unpretentious and the inn is very family-friendly with a large outdoor play area, which the younger members of the family enjoyed, enabling them to release some of their energy.I had prawns for a starter, then the steak and kidney pie, followed by apple and blackcurrent crumble and ice cream. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. Perhaps two courses would have sufficied, but it was a birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had an enjoyable lunchIt was fun that there were goats keeping an eye on us from the adjacent farm

Another splendid pub with great food. Friendly staff, nice outside area, and a really full menu. See how many extras you can get on the beanburger - I recommend halloumi, mushrooms and jalapenos.

Welcome to the Bunk Inn, a traditional village pub full of charm and character situated just moments from Newbury Racecourse, minutes from Highclere Castle and just over an hour from London. Set in the beautiful village of Curridge, the 9 warm and stylish
Visited The Bunk Inn today with some friends. We always meet there as itâs always been a pleasant country pub in a nice setting with good food ........... until today. The food was nothing like we had experienced in the past. We opted for the âhealthy optionâ and have the Superfood bowl which we have had before. What was presented was what can only be described as a bowl of wet leaves with no dressing in a pool of water with no mint etc or anything as described, which would lend any kind of flavour to it whatsoever. The dinning room was completely empty which was unusual (now we understand why) for a weekend and the staff rather miserable less than enthusiastic. We then discovered that The Bunk has been taken over by the same group that ruined the only descent restaurant in Swindon The Weighbridge. That is now two restaurants that were delightful that have been completely ruined which I will not be returning to. Please advise me where you are planning on staging your next takeover bid as now Wiltshire and Berkshire have been spoilt, I would like to know where to avoid next.

Visited while on an overnight stay at the nearby Travelodge.Happy, friendly staff. Large chalk board menu hung on the wall over tables so if sat underneath, not a pleasant experience as people stare at the menu, you and your food!!Dining area appears to be stuck in the 1970s or maybe it's a theme?!Food ok, small portions. Over priced.

Chosen at random; as about half-way between our homes; and the positive reviews we saw deemed it a good place to meet up. We wasn't disappointed; location was good for us; venue was very pleasant; food we liked a lot; service came throughout with a smile. All in all, much fun and we'd go againThank you for your five star review. We are very pleased to hear that we lived up to your expectations and that you will return to visit us again. We hope to see you in the near future. Lauren and the team.
