Find out what Bar restaurants to try in Staunton. The city planners in Staunton, Virginia, were very careful to preserve the town's heritage, keeping power lines and cell towers out of view in the historic districts, allowing nothing to interrupt the charm of local restaurants and shops operating out of original Victorian storefronts. Staunton is also the home to the Frontier Culture Museum, The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and the American Shakespeare Center, staging plays at the world's only replica of the Blackfriars Playhouse.

We stopped here because friends wanted to, though Applebee's isn't my favorite stop. The restaurant was somewhat dated and dark...another reason I would have preferred to dine elsewhere.I will say that our server was pleasant and attentive, and that our friends loved their meal. We opted for a salad which was fresh, although nothing extraordinary. That's about all I can say.

I walked here from the Hampton inn next door. We got seated right away, our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu, food took a while to come out, but everything was good and as ordered. I would definitely stop here again.

My wife and I stopped here enroute to Tennessee. We always get the bottomless Tostada chips and salsa. Always crisp and very light, nobody does it better than Chili's. After enjoying two orders of these we shared an order of Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas--so tasty and satisfying! The service was very good as they work on a cooperative basis--a few took turns taking care of us..

This is a lovely, quiet little lounge that will definitely have people coming back again and again. Ken, the bar tender was quite possibly the best there is. Kind, patient, funny. It just adds to the exceptional service of the hotel. Full bar, lots of selection, great specials during Happy Hour. It's a must before and after live theatre in the evening.

The Clocktower is my choice when I am looking for a good, inexpensive, well-prepared meal. The ambiance is relaxed, the service is quick and cheerful, and the special menu options change frequently. They have a great bakery counter to eat in or take out -- pies and cakes and muffins and Danish and on and on. I particularly like their oatmeal raisin cookies, and always take some away. And the owners are usually on site and willing to help with menu choices or respond to any perceived problems. Not sure why or how some folks recently are unhappy -- or is there a campaign against this very nice place?

The Bistro was the perfect ending for a great day with friends. The drink list covered everyone, and our dishes were delicious. I had the shrimp and grits which were gluten free and outstanding. The portions were large but no one left much on their plate.

This restaurant is in the pedestrian-friendly downtown Staunton area. The building has original elements and interesting stained glass. Delicious homemade bread and butter started our meal. We had a dinner item from the daily specials and one from the regular menu, and both were delicious. The beer and wine menu is extensive, and we were offered samples if we needed to make a decision (we didnât but it was an option not often offered). Our server was attentive and informative about the dishes, and the manager stopped by the table to ensure everything was going well. By the time we left at about 7 pm, there was a long wait to get seated, so arriving early is recommended on a Friday.
