This pub had a great atmosphere with friendly and welcoming staff as well as locals. We played the pub quiz which was great fun with a variety of questions for all ages. Also a lovely pool table area and drinks are reasonably priced. Plus the deserts looked amazing!!

Already listed as a hotel but the newly refurbed restaurant and bar should be listed
We were lucky to be staying not too far from this Hotel. We ate dinner here twice . The food was exceptional! And we know because we ate at two other more 'upmarket' Restaurants nearby and they didn't come close to the quality of the food at Queens Hotel. The staff is very friendly. I'm happy to read that other travellers also enjoyed this Hotel. It deserves all the positive feedback it gets. Although I don't think that we can top the endorsement by MARY BERRY which greets you at the door before you walk in.

This pub restaurant is clean, tidy and you get a big welcome from the staff. Itâs a beautiful setting for lunch and we both ordered roast lamb. It was presented perfectly and tasted just like you had cooked it at home. Everything was hot tasty and served perfectly. Portions were big too. We chose the local Cornish cheeseboard for dessert and were treated to 5 local cheeses and they all tasted superb. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Just one word of caution please book in advance as the restaurant gets very busy.

Country pub with great food , Michelin and Good Food guide recommended.
We have been here many times before over the last few years and I donât know if they have changed hands but the last time we visited the food was not good, not much variety and just generally not great. And then today, we went in for what we thought would be an evening of games in the bar (they have board games etc) and lots of drinks with food, just how we normally would spend our night there. Set up a tab ready to go.... we sat in the bar area and we had our 15 year old shihtzu with us, he was sitting with us on the bench seat in the window... no one else in the pub at this point.... and the landlord asked us to move the dog off the seat as people complain about dog hair..... every time we have been in before we have been welcomed in with our dog, have sat and spoke to other dog owners and dogs not restricted at all, and after reading the previous review from a few days ago it is apparent that a pub landlord in Cornwall doesnât like dogs! Very disappointed and we left straight after our drinks, and wonât be returning! New landlord needed ASAP!

Tucked away in the old quarter of Penzance, The Cornish Barn is a rustic restaurant, bar and smokehouse in Penzance serving a wholesome menu with a focus on fresh Cornish produce â all helped along by craft beers and wines from local independent vineyards
We had drinks here one night, and came back the next night for dinner. We loved the warm, cosy decor, good choice of drinks and pretty good food. The only thing that wasnât great was the service; a lot of errors both times, the staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. They forgot to bring menus and to seat us in the restaurant until well after the reservation time, and every drinks order was messed up. All in all, however, we forgave the slapdash service because the ambiance and food made up for it. We would go again if we were in the area.Good evening honeyHenleyonThames,Thank you for your time writing this review.I am happy to hear that you loved the atmosphere of the Restaurant, and I will be sure to pass on your comments about the food on to the kitchen.I am sorry that the service was not to the standards that you wanted. Please feel free to contact the management team via phone or by emailing us at [email protected] to provide some extra information, so that we can work to insure that this does not happen again. We appreciate all feedback to help our eccentric charmed slice of Penzance grow.Kind RegardsRyanDuty manager

Whilst there are no complaints with this restaurant with a position to die for the presentation of the food just didnât quite hit the spot. Perhaps the description in its name cafe belies the approach that whilst it charges upper mid range prices, over £50 a head, it has a very relaxed approach. Seamless service and well cooked food made the experience enjoyable. On arrival we wondered why we had booked, it became clear as the evening progressed that this place gets very busy with arrivals perfectly timed to load the kitchen so food is fresh and waiting times are kept to an absolute minimum.Very much worth a visit but do book if you donât want to be disappointed for dinner.
