We sat outside and the view of the boats was great. Service was good, although it took more than a little while to get our food. There was that one hair in my patty melt, but my wife's was fine. Good burger and it was nice to be outside.

Bosses took me out for a steak. Everything about the place was good. Could not help but notice the price of my 14 ounce ribeye was $39. Thatâs just the world we live in.Thanks Blane,We appreciate your review and we are thrilled you loved your steak! Cheers, Rich

Our restaurant specializes in great food and catering to our patrons from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. We want every one of you who are dining with us to have an exceptional experience. We are proud to serve local Iowa pork and beef products
We have eaten at Maxwells in the past and have always been pleased. A nice menu with pasta, seafood and beef entrees. This time of year the new waitstaff are still figuring things out. We had reservations on a Thursday night and were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter was on the spot and brought us water and drinks in a timely fashion. Then, things kind of fell apart. We had hoped to have a leisurely dinner and spend some time enjoying the view of Lake Okoboji. We ordered appetizers, salads and entrees. The salads came out rather quickly and they said they were checking on the appetizer. Then when the entrees came the appetizer came with it. This is usually a kitchen problem. Hard to blame the food runners who are told to take this to table âXâ. Overall the food was excellent, my wife had the scallops and pappardelle pasta and I had the rack of lamb. We took the appetizer home. Weâll still go back to Maxwells, but will give our waitstaff a little more guidance on timing. We could have refused the salads and insisted on the appetizer first, but our entrees might have been held under a warmer for who knows how long. Okoboji is a tourist town and the restaurants count on high school and college students for staff. They take a little time to get the hand of things.

We frequent Nautical regularly and are always greeted with enthusiasm, prompt service, good drinks and food at a reasonable price. Open, airy, venue as long as the weather is good. We have always enjoyed out stops there!
We stumbled upon Snappers while looking for something else, and we loved it. We ate outside on the patio on a beautiful summery day. There are covered and uncovered tables. It has TVs around the bar and patio to watch a game or event. We loved the food. My husband and I shared the carribbean nachos and pork sandwich and it was a good amount. I loved the atmosphere. Good serviced. We would definitely go back and recommend to others.

We went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon during season. A "Seat yourself" sign was up so we chose a table on the patio. Two golfers were out there also. A snotty girl opened up door and said "We're not seating on patio"..I asked "why?" she said "lack of manpower"..I said "It's so nice out, we'd really like to say out here"..she said "no". One of the golfers suggested getting our food to go, and eating outside at the tables. "Great idea" I said, "we'll do that". She said "no, that's not allowed, the manager won't let us do that". She told me they didn't want to clean up the mess...We went inside, and a very sweaty waitress finally took our order after waiting 5 plus minutes. After waiting for 30 min for 2 chicken sandwiches, we just left. I couldn't be less impressed and definitely won't go back. This place needs to remember that they're located at what is mainly a seasonal vacation spot for most, and on a nice day, people are going to want to sit outside on their vacation. NOTE: The outdoor table we would have sat at was physically 10-12 feet away from the inside table, just on the other side of the glass. Thumbs down, for sure, on staff at least .. I don't know about the food!!Went out to deliver your food and you were gone. I apologize for "the snotty girl". She was overwhelmed and at this time of year, overworked. We weren't seating on the deck for food service as we truly did not have enough servers to handle it. You certainly could have taken your chicken sandwiches outside to eat them when you got them. They are delicious. This time of year, all college students have returned to school and it is almost impossible for local businesses who stay open year around to find full-time or part-time help.So sorry!!

We visited this restaurant on Saturday, September 15. Three of the people in our party had prime rib & they thought it was good, except for the fact that the meat was barely warm. I ordered the chicken oscar, which I've had at other restaurants. This was the absolute WORST I've ever had - it was barely edible. I've never seen it served the way I had it last night - covered in a thick glop of goop - it was TERRIBLE & totally overpriced. I'm not sure if I would ever go back - totally disappointed!

Great place to relax, watch boats go by, and listen to live music. Scott & Keifer played the day we were there, and they were great! The food is always high quality and very consistent each time we go there. Wait staff is always right on the ball. Our favorite place to go when we're at the lakes.

We don't like posting negative reviews. The restaurant business is brutal and anyplace can have an off night. However, there were some real problems with our recent dinner. Ate there on a Saturday night when the place was busy, but not packed, and every table in our section had to wait forever for service, drinks and food. Our entree arrived an hour + 10 minutes after ordering. In the interim, I had to wait about 30 minutes to get a cocktail, and our bread wasn't refreshed. In fact we felt abandoned - no apology, no check-in, no bowl of chips or extra bread while we waited. And no warning about the expected delay. Again, we understand things happen but a nearby table was offered 2 rounds of drinks on the house for their wait. Another table had a manager visit to apologize. Another was given their food to go after the long wait. In our case - no acknowledgement except a brief apology when our entrees finally arrived. We certainly don't expect to be comped, or to receive any extras, but the inconsistency in how various tables were treated was noticeable. It shouldn't be too difficult to establish a consistent policy when things get off schedule. Thank you.Hello - My sincere apologies for the lack of consistency. As a leader in the industry we strive to be the best at great food, great service, and creating that one special memory while dining with us. We will apply your constructive criticism into our front of the house training to be very transparent with everyone moving forward. Hopefully we have the opportunity to serve you again and make it a special experience. Once again, I apologize for the service and thank you for the observations.
