We picked this restaurant because it offered something for everyone and the reviews were great. On a three day trip we made had dinner and lunch, what a treat. There were ten of us travelling (with four kids) and we all wanted something different, this restaurant certainly delivered. The food choices were excellent and the quality was fantastic. The staff were very good at their jobs and the venue was warm and welcoming. After our second trip there, we all wished we could go back and sample the other items that were jumping out at us from the menu.

Pub & Tavern Serving Newtown area. Outdoor Dining overlooking Pootatuk River. Events Space, Warner Loft can accommodate up to 85 guests.
After reading the reviews and checking out the menu I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. For starters they took care of us right away, we had a reservation and there was no delay in seating us. They provided some home made ranch potato chips which were really good before we got our meals. Four our entrees we ordered the Inside out Burger, the Duck dip and the Butcherâs cut. My son enjoyed his burger and the duck dip was very tasty and full of flavor. My entree was the Butcherâs cut (more like the Butcherâs scraps)now with a name like that you are probably guessing you will get a decent sized portion but to my astonishment it was about 5 small pieces of beef with a couple of fingerling potatoes. For a minute I thought I got the childrenâs portion it was tiny. For the price of the entree I would have thought it would have been a bigger portion. In addition to this when our meals were served they spilled a drink on the table which forced my gfâs entree to have to be sent back. I thought they would come back and at least offer to get us a drink to make up for the mistake but absolutely nothing. If you find yourself here stay away from the Butcherâs cut unless you want to stop somewhere else to get a bite to eat.

We have been to the Danbury and Newtown locations this was our first time to Woodbury.Atmosphere in all locations are relatively the same. Comfortable. Rustic. Staff in all locations was good, and helpful.Food in Woodbury was good - we had the burger, fried fish and short rib. Each of of loved what we ordered.

I stayed at the hotel and had dinner at the restaurant. Whereas the room prices were very reasonable, I found the prices at the restaurant to be high. Everything is a-la-carte. A chicken or fish dinner entrée runs $24 to $30 and does not come with a salad or vegetable. I had the blackened rock fish for $24. It came on a bed of rice and beans. Nothing else. No Salad. No vegetable. However, the food quality was good. Fresh ingredients. Nice plating. I had dinner on a weeknight at 6:30PM. The restaurant was empty except for me. However, the bar next door was full and noisy. As attractive as the restaurant dining area is, the noisy bar next door and the front desk across from the dining area distracts from the dining experience. With only limited dining options close by to the hotel, it is a reasonable hotel restaurant. However, if I was not staying at the hotel, I would have looked elsewhere for a more enjoyable dining experience.

We came as a group of 6 for Thanksgiving early afternoon and we had reservations and arrived on time.1. No one was at the host station to greet us. We had to go looking through the restaurant to find someone. When finally greeted, the hostess arrived with a baby in her arms and informed us that we would be upstairs. When asked how to get upstairs, her answer was "the stairs." And we had to ask where they were.2. The smell of the restaurant when we opened the door was like old seafood that had been cooked - a permeating stench.3. No one escorted us to our table and we had to seat ourselves. In addition, no one explained or showed us the buffet downstairs before we went upstairs.4. In the room upstairs, the table was not set, the room was VERY cold (below 60 degrees). When we asked (3 times) to turn up the heat, they said they would, and then later said it was broken.5. The kitchen staff was unkempt, standing in the middle of the dining room in the way of guests, replacing empty pans, not cleaning the stations. When the first of our party arrived at the buffet line, there were no plates, no bread rolls, no mashed potatoes, no stuffing, no salad dressing, no ramekins to put the dressing in. The buffet line was a MESS and we had to go find staff to alert them to these problems. Some of the (untrained?) staff restocked the food pans in front of the guests instead from behind the buffet line which was very unprofessional.6. Our tables were not cleared and we had to ask for them to bus our tables when we were done and ready for dessert.7. The staff was unapologetic for all the inconveniences we experienced - almost to the point of rudeness. They had a very careless attitude. Overall the experience with the service was highly unprofessional and careless. No attention was given to details. On such a special event as Thanksgiving, one would think this would be their time to shine, when instead it was a complete flop. I felt bad for the staff because the lack of training was beyond negligent and is SQUARELY ON THE MANAGEMENT'S SHOULDERS. Having said all this, the food overall was average.

We have been to Shadrachs many times over the past 2 decades. We just wish they would make a decision about what theme they want to go with and stick with it. If they would visit a place like the GW Tavern in Washington Depot, and gain ideas from them, they could replicate so much! It is a great looking facility that has wonderful potential.

Being new to town we decided to have lunch out. We picked Maggie McFlyâs after hearing someone mention it. The lunch special of soup and sandwiches was great. The soups were hot and tasty and both our sandwiches were great. The atmosphere is nice and the service good. We will have try it for dinner soon

I took our Father here for Fatherâs Day late afternoon. Very surprised that there were just two other tables since our other visits, albeit a few years ago, it was always very busy. Now I know why. Fatherâs steak was half grizzle covered with onions as a camouflage and my grilled shrimp was way over cooked. Service good, food terrible.
