I visited on New Years Eve with a party of friends, and didnât have the most favourable of experiences. After informing the Manager I was invited to return .... I am so very glad my husband and I took him up on this.... a totally different experience was thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent hospitality and service, amazing cocktails with table-side presentation (fire, dry ice etc). The food we had was delicious and the gluten free choices were explained thoroughly and enjoyed. Would recommend this place very highly to anyone and my husband and I will most definitely return next time we are visiting Birmingham. We returned later the same night to enjoy another cocktail before returning to our hotel and the Manager had kindly reserved us a table where table service was once again enjoyed as well as another delicious cocktail (there are so many to choose from and every single one we tried tonight was delicious and so well presented!). Thank you Aluna for restoring faith in the restaurant business. Service at its finest.

Impeccable from start to finish. An experience Iâd recommend on. The service was flawless and the food from our starters to the mains were to die for. The Management and Staff were knowledgeable and the beverage selection is absolutely beautiful. Myself and Colleagues were impressed with the warm atmosphere and the attention to detail. Thanks for a wonderful night. Will be returning no doubt.

We headed here as we wanted somewhere we could walk to from our hotel and they were offering a 25% discount on food for Bloc Hotel guests. Always an incentive! It was quite early so the place was nearly empty but I can imagine it would be terrific later on when the place got going. We were greeted promptly and chose two different cocktails which were soon on the table. We ordered a selection of tapas dishes (only veggie) and again it all arrived in a timely fashion with just the tortilla coming out after everything else. All the food was delicious and we cleared every bit which I wasnât sure we would after seeing the amount of food we had ordered! It was all beautifully cooked and presented. We did both have another cocktail and all together they accounted for almost half the bill. Yes, they could be considered expensive (especially where I come from) but itâs not something we drink all the time. The gentleman who served us was pleasant and efficient. The 25% discount was very welcome but we would have no hesitation in visiting again without it!

My husband & i must have ordered the last of the Sunday beef which was meagrely divided between us. As regulars we noticed an extreme difference to the usual. In fairness,on complaining, we were provided with sumptipus pieces of lamb but new customers would have just accepted the poor offering as the norm: unfair to them & giving them poor value for money along with the wrong impression of the establishment. Sunday roasts are advertised until 9 o'clock but we had the last beef dinners at 4.30 & by the time we left around 6, only pork belly remained: we observed potential customers walk out in disappointment.

With not knowing the area and arriving early to pick friends up from Arena Birmingham looked for somewhere to eat ,someone said The Red Lion but as I couldn't find the turning off the carriageway stumbled across The Queen Inn attached to a Premier Inn ,Car Park was easily accessible the outside of the building and grounds were very tidy and looking in the place had a very tidy and attractive look too it ,You get the option of using the Restaurant & getting table service or using the bar side .I decided on the latter as plenty of spaces to sit and was relatively quiet ...You have to enter your Number plate of your car at the bar ,I wasn't told this on arrival I suppose the staff assumed I knew the procedure ..... I decided to order off the Menu An All Day Breakfast & a cup of black coffee ,my coffee arrived straight away in a large Costa Cup but my food took a lot longer around a 20 minute wait for my food to arrive at my table ( it did look quite busy in the restaurant side I did hear several people singing Happy Birthday to someone in their party) The Food arrived and 3 large half slices of toast with one knob of butter on top ,surprisingly it managed to spread all three pieces ,usual suspects on a breakfast menu tomato, beans hash browns x2 bacon x 2 Mushrooms & 2 eggs and 2 sausages ,The Toast perhaps could have been toasted a bit more ,it was barely toasted and was more bread like than toast ,everything on the plate was cooked perfectly except the sausages which leaves me with an average review ....The first sausage was slightly burned on the outside and though both ends were tough it was edible ,the second sausage however was horrendous cutting into it physically made my plate move in the end half of it was impossible to cut ,it felt like a left over breakfast re cook and if i am honest it was that hard I am sure it could have broken the windows if it was thrown ,If I had tried the sausages first I would have rightly complained but coupled with the 20 minute wait and the time I had left to pick my friends up it was luckily I didn't ....As I prepared to leave the place was starting to fill up so looks like a popular venue ,maybe I just had the luck of the draw when it came to those sausages ,was a disappointment to what would have been a lovely meal and experience overall with polite somewhat busy staff !

Indoor Tandoori Barbeque
Me and my partner visited here last night. On ordering our meal, I stayed no onions. The barmaid made no comment about this request and it was printed on my receipt with âno onionsâ.When our mains came, my chicken curry had lots of onions in. I spoke to the barman who stated all the sauces come with onions, but took the meal back to the kitchen to confirm this. My meal was then brought back out and I finished it. The chicken was a bit hit and miss and I was having to cut away some parts of the chicken as it wasnât very nice. I didnât want to make a fuss as my partner said his meal was very nice. When I went to bed, I was up all night and into the early hours of this morning suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting. The stomach cramps I had was absolutely awful. The only thing that could have caused this was the chicken curry, which my partner had none of and makes sense why he hasnât been ill!! I have contacted The Vine directly through their online âcontact usâ section and I am still yet to receive a reply. I want a full investigation into this as I am absolutely appalled to have had this experience. Thanks for leaving a review on TA. We have replied to your email regarding this matter also. We were concerned to hear this and hope you are feeling better. We serve over a thousand meals every week and food hygiene is very important to us. I believe it was made aware to you that the base of the curry sauce main ingredient is actually made with onions blended down into the curry sauce. Iâm glad to hear your partner enjoyed his meal. We are looking into this at the moment and are waiting to hear back from you.
