The Woolly Sheep is a traditional dining pub in the centre of Skipton, serving good quality freshly prepared food and great Timothy Taylors beers. We pride ourselves on the our service, atmosphere and produce, to ensure we always leave you wanting more.
Recommended by the owner of our narrow boat. This place is great! Staff are attentive, beer is awesome and food..... omg the food! Party for the taste buds. We both went for pate to start. Absolutely beautiful. Couldâve had another portion, it was so good. Need to sell the pate in jars to takeaway... I wouldâve bought 10 jars! Belly pork for main and missus went for bangers n mash. Both stunning. Belly pork was to die for and plate completely cleared! Staff made a fuss of our dog, which is always appreciated. If youâre in Skipton, this is a must visit.

Choose from six cask conditioned, well kept ales. The only pub in Skipton to always keep Theaksonâs Old Peculier, plus a warming Dark Mild. Delicious homemade food â two meals for £10 at lunchtime 11.00 until 2.30. Sandwiches, baguettes and jackets for th
couple of pints there during our visit to skipton.a lovely bar staff pleasant.the bar itself is very interesting with nooks and crannies and odd corners.the problem is the prices i was charged £5,70 for a pint of lager and half a cider.this was the most we paid anywhere during the week.we did not bother going back at these prices

Set in the stunning Broughton estate, you'll find us traditional in style with open fires; flagged stone floors; good old furniture and lots of rugs and plants. Internally, the bar sits at the heart of things with an array of cask ales, shelves full of gi
My partner and I have eaten here twice (second time to try again) as everyone seems to rave about it. We wonât return. Both times the service has been poor - had to sit and wait for ages before our food order was taken and both times, we had empty drinks glasses and no-one asked if we wanted another drink or how the food was. Food... watery, bland gravy steak pie served in dish with cheap oven chips. Pork steak (apparently cooked to medium as per the menu but we noticed this has been taken off) was cooked well done. A requested medium cooked steak which was rare. Always loads of staff there but no-one seeming to be doing anything, hard to get their attention to ask for extra drinks or condiments. Atmosphere, itâs lovely outside in the beer garden which does have a good atmosphere but inside itâs dull and quiet. Itâs overpriced and underwhelming. Itâs almost like theyâve built up a good reputation (as years ago it was excellent) and theyâre happy living on that - no effort on maintaining or improving. When really it needs looking at, especially the chefs.

A traditional town center pub dating back to the 1600's. Serving a great selection of cask ale, wine and spirits, and home cooked food. A warm welcome and a friendly relaxed atmosphere. A large secluded beer garden. Dogs always welcome

I had the fish platter and liver on the second night. Once more these were cooked to perfection. The breads on arrival were a lovely touch. Called in here after staying overnight at the Travelodge; first visit to Skipton. Two of us chose the granola with fruit and yoghurt and our friend had the half breakfast. The granola was beautifully presented, was a very good-sized portion and was delicious. The half breakfast was excellent value at £7 including a cup of tea and was also very well presented and included several fresh tomatoes and mushrooms as well as sausage, egg, beans, toast and bacon. We sat upstairs where the decor was very quirky and interesting. The staff were lovely too, making the whole experience very pleasant. Highly recommended.Hello!Thank you for taking the time to leave such a great review of your visit! We are so glad that you enjoyed your breakfast and our quirky little bar!We hope that you return in the future and look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again,The Two Sisters

As the name suggests, this establishment is very close to Skipton station and I called in when I had plenty of time to wait for a train. I am glad that I did - received a warm welcome in cosy, friendly surroundings. Drinks choices were good and they have a very inviting looking menu. I would definitely return here and thank you to the staff for making me feel at home.

We booked 2 rooms for one night, meeting up with my brother and his wife from Tasmania, and were delighted with our experience at the Old Swan Inn.We chose Gargrave due to its proximity to Skipton, and it is a really beautiful and characterful Yorkshire Village. Our accommodation at the Old Swan Inn was spacious and comfortable, and spotlessly clean, and just what we needed for a nights stay.We had booked a table in the restaurant and were glad we had because the restaurant and the bar were busy, which is always a good sign! The menu had a really good choice of meals, and the food that we had was all very tasty, well presented and well cooked. Service was also very good, with prompt attention to our requests and friendly and efficient service. Our accommodation included a full breakfast, and this was one of the best we had experienced in a long time, with a choice of fresh fruit, cereals and cooked options. The landlady, Lindsay, and all of the staff we met provided great Yorkshire hospitality, and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Old Swan Inn.

This was the choice for dinner when my walking chum and I (after an afternoon supping Timothy Taylorâs ales) picked my daughter up from the adjacent station ahead of she & I walking the BHF Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The food was very tasty and the service friendly & efficient.
