The Sherwood Inn features seasonal menus rooted in Classic American fare. Sherwood Classic items such as the Yankee Pot Roast and Baked Scrod Christopher are available year round, while our chefs change other seasonal entree selections based on the market
Great staff! Great historic building overlooking the water in the center of town!Loved all of the food at the sea fest!

Definitely a nicer pub however the service is not up to par. Unfortunately, unless you're a regular, don't expect a warm welcome. If we do go, its to grab a roast beef sandwich on Mondays (buy 1, get 1). Their horseradish sauce is good but spicy!

Staying at the Sherwood Inn again, we remembered seeing it on a previous trip and decided to drop in to this relatively new (3 years) restaurant/taproom. Parking looks like it could be a problem and we were lucky to get one the 4 parking spots out front on a snowy evening. Once inside we were told there were 8 spots around by the back entrance and that during the winter you car probably wouldn't be bothered across the street in the Topps shopping center. It is the only place of it's kind in that section of town and sits back about a 1/4 mile or so from the main restaurant/bar area on Genesee Street. Inside there is a small dining area and an attractive light wood bar with 62 beers on tap, mostly from New York state. There is even a small dining area with tables and sofas on an upper area that looks down over the main floor. The menu is small but varied and we both liked the Boston small sandwich, a turkey sandwich on a baguette with cranberry mayo and 2 sides. The Waldorf salad and the baked beans were very good and the tap pretzels turned out to be just small pretzels with a dip. The Shepherds Blueberry pilsner and Fleur De Lis Wit were both very good. That evening there was a representative from the Fleur De Lis brewery and we sampled their heritage Pumpkin Ale which was very good. Very good service and we look forward to a return trip the next time we are in town.

My wife and two daughters wanted to try out this new restaurant as we have all been to several Mexican restaurants in the area. The staff was very family friendly as we had a four year old and two babies with us. We sat in the downstairs in a very pleasant atmosphere. The menu offered many choices and we all ordered something different. The prices ran around $ 13 for the lunches and we were not disappointed in our choices. Each dish was flavorful and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will return again soon.
