This local hang-out (calling it a bar-restaurant is an overkill) was recommended by some locals to try the local mussels. Going there with the right spirit, we found the experience colorful and fun. The "bar-restaurant" is essentially one room with a big pool table in the middle, a few scattered chairs and the bar where everything happens - no sitting for the food, if you are lucky you find a high chair available around the bar.The level of noise was overwhelming, and communication with the barman-owner (a chinese lady screaming her lungs out to get the right people's attention) was fairly impossible, we were lucky to sit next to a very nice local lady who communicated in Papiamento (I think) and translated for us. The place was crowded, with a mix of locals and tourists, the median age was likely around 70-75. Locals know better to call before and order their food (of course, they are able to communicate with the barman), we ended up waiting almost one hour for the take-away food we ordered, and a couple of beers helped with the wait. The mussels were huge, bigger than I thought exist, one of them would be enough to fill a small sandwich, they came in some sort of unidentifiable Chinese-type sauce. We ordered two mussels dishes with fries (I think), with six beers the bill was USD 28, higher than I thought but I am not sure I understood the menu correctly. All in all it was fun, discovering we still have a sense of adventure and maintain a positive attitude toward unexpected cultural challenges makes us feel young.

The restaurant is part of the all inclusive plan at the Renaissance Hotel and Suites. It is located on their private island. There were not many choices for breakfast. Each was served with an individual fruit plate plus plates of pastries to share. The Caribbean breakfast was different and quite good, oven beaked eggs on top of a mild, tasty salsa. Lunch offered typical selections of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches. The jerk wings were great.

10:30 am tours and bring the $5 coupon found in many of the tourist advertising booklets to get the tour for $5. Nice short tour and get a cold beer at the end. You can also order food if you are hungry. They were bottling water the day we toured. The recycle the glass bottles for the beer. They also bottle for Coca-Cola and many other local soft drinks.Very informative and interesting!

The restaurant has a beautiful view but many other restaurants by the beach offer that feature. The guy who welcomed us was nice and friendly but the waiter not so much...food is good but a bit pricy compared to other restaurants and whatâs on the plate...and they charge you a 15% service fee automatically on the bill which I find should be left at the customerâs discretion. Over all... I wouldnât really recommend going there especially since there are many other restaurants to discover on the island.

This is a fun place to stop by and check out the rock formations, and then have lunch at the cafe... They have great sandwiches, cold drinks and cheap beers (cheaper than the resorts!)!!! Oh yeah, ice cream too! On Wednesday nights they have a jazz band (always very good!) and great dinners.. Sunday nights they have a BBQ and live music.. We always enjoy going here when we are in Aruba (8 times so far!)....

If only it was not so far from our hotel then we would come here more often. It is best restaurant if you visit Arikok National Park as there are not many restaurants nearby. I had really nice wrap made of pink dough, it was very tasty. I also loved their homemade fries. It was very delicious. The service was very friendly and when owner found out we are visiting baby beach after he advised us to use his toilet as there won't be any changing facilities at the beach.
