This local club serves the most interesting and authentic Portuguese food as well as hamburgers (for those less adventurous). My first try of Moray eel tapas and also of goose barnacles (a famous local delicacy). The service is the best it can manage, which means not restaurant standard. The upside is that the prices are very reasonable.

Weâd had a round of golf and called in for some refreshments. Pleasingly, besides the usual club house standards, there were other options available. I chose the burrito which was very tasty with beef melting in my mouth, although a bit more spice would have been good. The driver in our party said it was the best orange juice heâd had whilst weâd been awayThank you very much for visiting Gecko Restaurant at Espiche Golf, and for sharing your positive experience with us. Easy to find on the island to Almadena, on the 125. A pub come restaurant with pleasant dining area, and outside space .English couple running the place for several years , very friendly . Good range of food including Pizza, to eat in or take a way. We had the fillet steak and it was cooked just as we requested and traditional UK cut. Well worth a visit.

I ordered the slow cooked short ribs and they were awesome. Huge portions, great service. Make reservations though which seems to be the norm in Luz.

A very relaxing place to have a delicious breakfast at a reasonable price. Get there early as it fills up quickly. Afternoon or early evening drink is also recommended. Friendly staff and many regulars there. We love our walk down there every morning when we visit Burgau.

What a great English pub, full of footy TVs, large inside & plenty of room outside, with a free swimming pool. Staff look after you as if they were family. We had Sunday dinner for three adults three children, it was large well cooked just like your mums dinner. Well done we will be back.

We tried a few cafés in Burgau before returning here for many lunches and snacks.The food, service and prices are very good; very dependable overall. Great views and a nice welcome every time.Cross over the street to their ice cream shop afterwards for your dessert!

Had a disappointing meal here to celebrate a elderly relatives birthday recently. We had certain expectations given the website, but the restaurant didnât really stack up to the image presented. There was loud music playing which made it difficult to chat (It was an 89th birthday!) and the restaurant was largely open to the elements which didnât help. The food was ok, with one dish being really good, but the overall service was also disappointing. (Long waits, meals served some time apart etc). The bill was also a surprise as the most expensive meal we had during a 2 week holiday in the area. Sadly, it just wasnât worth that in my book.
