We organised to attend the horse races at Pinjarra Racecourse on 12 January 2019 and have dinner at the Premier Hotel afterwards. We have done this before and enjoyed good service and food.Unfortunately this time the experience was not as good. After a 90 minute wait our dinner had still not arrived and had not even been started. We were offered a refund by a very apologetic and embarrassed staff member.I realise they were very busy as there were night markets as well as the horse races happening that day. I feel these should have been enough reasons to ensure adequate staff were working on the day. Let's hope the next visit in February is better.

Drinks ordered, paid for and picked up at the bar. American Express cards are not accepted and the bar person serving me was polite and efficient but couldn't manage a smile.Quite popular as senior meals served during the week. They have a good pub menu and a reasonable wine list.Meals are ordered and paid for seperately from a counter near the kitchen and you are given a buzzer to alert you when meals are ready.

Went in by boat today - group of 8. Saw the blackboard special - steak $15 add garlic prawns for $6. Sounds OK? Yeah, but - please - if you're going to do a 'daily special' at half price, then DON'T do a half size steak! It was PITIFULLY small and thin, and, to add insult to injury to ask ' how would you like it cooked"? when it's only about 6mm thick....? Are you kidding? It was like a piece if shoe leather! Lovely setting. Good service. Pity about the food.

The Sandy Cove tavern is situated on a canal and has lovely views from the dining room and outdoor areas, you can moor your boast at the little beach or Jetty as well. The meals are a good size and always delicious and great value. They have different meal specials each day and well priced seniors meals. Our favourites are the grilled barramundi with prawns, fish and chips and the prawn and avocado salad. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
