Went here for Sunday lunch recently. Chose it on the basis that it seems to be the top restaurant in Oudenaarde, at least according to TripAdvisor. Well, maybe we were simply unlucky, but I'm afraid the whole experience left us distinctly underwhelmed. First off, we had to wait almost a whole hour between ordering our food and its arriving on the table. I thought they'd maybe run out of steak and had gone to a farm nearby to kill a cow! Second, the food itself was pretty mediocre. My wife's asparagus were rock hard and not at all nice and soft the way they're supposed to be in Belgium. The ambience is pleasant enough: a converted canal/river barge. But we will not be back because the service was so slow.

Visiting Oudenaarde on a sunny Saturday we chose to have lunch at restaurant De Cridts because it has a large outside seating area offering a nice view on the Unesco World Heritage town hall and belfry. This brasserie-style place has an extensive menu offering a bit of everything: pasta, salads, croquettes and meat or fish mains. As is to be expected in view of the location, prices are on the high side with even pasta dishes ranging from â¬16 to â¬23 and salads from â¬18 to â¬28. There is an affordable childrenâs menu for the under12s though. We had the shrimp croquettes and the salmon with Béarnaise sauce, which was served separately. Both dishes came with very disappointing chips. With a beer and a glass of white wine we paid over 50 euros. Service was friendly. The interior of the restaurant is rather dark and not very attractive. De Cridts imposes special conditions on groups: one bill per table and no more than five different choices, which may motivate people to look elsewhere.

Amazing!!! This Pub-Restaurant has a real cycling atmosphere, with walls covered by shirts, photos, bicycles and old newspapers, and on the big screens you can follow live the main bike races. It is always full of cyclists recovering after a trip, using the shower-service (2â¬) of the Centrum. This is a "must" for every cyclism-fan!And the food is good as well. Beer too...
